Upgrading our Cold Frame to a Greenhouse! Garden Answer Michele: Does anyone ever ask Monty Don or Alan Titchmarsh why they have so many plants or why they keep growing their gardens? Is it because we live in the US with a relatively small concentration of popular gardening celebrities that we don't understand the field? Brits spent an AVERAGE of $918 US per household in 2019 on gardening compared to 75% less per household in US, and most of that was on lawn care and services. I think we need to get our heads around the fact that Laura is teaching us all and to do that she needs lots of land and lots of product. She acquires in advance so that she has what she needs always on hand to do HER JOB. and thank goodness she does. Laura, no one would dare question Monty and I, for one, will never question you. Now Aaron's obsession with motorized vehicles. that's another story.

New Gardner in Ohio: Wow! Gardening has come a long way. Updating the greenhouse I believe is going to be a major game changer. I started veggie seeds inside and this last winter I tried flowers for the 1st time. I am looking forward to seeing what you have in store this upcoming year and how you plan to Utilize the greenhouse. Unfortunately we live in the suburbs and have no room for something like this, but it does interest me how technology continues to change.

That is really impressive, how fun to work in that. I also want to say you are absolute the best with the vidoes. I have now watched several garden videos from other gardners and none of them is as good at presenting as you Laura, and Aaron of course. I am an old lady from Norway and I do not have a garden, I just love to watch your beautiful garden, listen to your sweet voice and dream a littleespecially on a cold Norwegian day

What an amazing prefab addition! Omg I'm so excited to this in action! And so blessed to have your amazing friends Jen and Jerry who are totally knowledged with this project! Following them now today below with your link! I dream of this maybe a smaller scale for sure, unless I move to get me my desired acreage, love my house, but need my greater garden spaces!

Will shade cloth have to go back on the cold frame/greenhouse now? You said you removed it, but unless I missed it, there was no mention of it going back on. Does the double layer of plastic with the dead air space between cut down on the transmission of heat and cold so much that shade cloth is no longer required? Thanks!

All you need to keep Russell away from that wood is citrus oil sprayed on the surface - orange, lemon, and/or lime will keep a kitty away from something a good while. And it's hard not to laugh at their expressions when they walk up and smell the citrus - they seem almost offended at the fragrance!

So glad my two favorite garden families got together. I so enjoy watching both your videos. I have learned so much from both of you two. I live so close to Creekside Nursery and buy all my plants from them. Awesome couple. Glad you two got to meet each other.

Loved watching the greenhouse go up. Were in an area in Southwestern Ontario Canada which has the most greenhouses in North America. They grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and also strawberries. Nice to get local fresh produce all year long.

This is going to be life changing. I saw videos on the double wall blower system last year, and I was amazed how simple yet effective it looks.
Sooo nice of Jenny and Jerry to fly out and help, must have been fun.
