20+ Plants With Blue Flowers! Garden Answer Katie: Hi, I love and really enjoy watching you but I have one request of you. You talk/speak a lot counting the minutes, and I love you talking but it would be so helpful if you would please leave the picture of the plant 10X longer while you are talking so that we are not just looking at you but rather a plant and following your words while actually looking at the plant longer. Most people are visual learners. the pictures are on the screen for only seconds while your are talking for minutes. We need to see the picture longer, kindly just leave the picture of the plant up on the screen and less of you. You are lovely btw, many compliments on how beautiful you are seriously. but as you talk and talk, it would help your audience to see the plant instead. Thank you so much. lots of love.

I have a mostly blue Bearded Iris garden! I know theres a lot of purplish irises pretending to be blue, but there are some very true blue ones too! I love Codicil and Continuity, they are both light blue with dark, dark blue beards. Or theres Classy Chassy, Regents Row, Victoria Fallstheres a lot of good ones! Sometimes the photos are deceptive, so if you cant see them in person, Id try to talk to someone at a farm who understands blue. (I really like Tina and Daughters Iris gardenTina will tell you whats really blue)
I also love delphiniums and lupines, but I have to expect them to be annuals and then be pleasantly surprised if they come back the next year.
Flax is a good blue, and if it likes a spot, it will reseed. Warning: scabiosa Butterfly Blue is NOT blue!

One of my absolute favourite flowers that was left off the list. BLUEBELLS! I know you mentioned Scilla siberica, but the Scilla Hyacinthoides hispanica is much more common in my part of the world. There is nothing more beautiful than massive drifts of bluebells under trees IMO. I would LOVE to be able to get the English variety (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) here in Australia, because they are scented! But they have been out-bred by the Spanish ones here apparently.
Another blue flower I would suggest is Phacelia tanacetifolia, which could be worth considering for your new block of land, as it's often grown as a cover crop to improve soil.
Lechenaultia biloba is a stunning Western Australian blue flower.

We are coastal but I have grown blue hydrangea in upland clay based soil. I understand all you have to do to change the color of a hydrangea is to add copper or a nail, or iron to the soil depending on the color you are wanting. Personally I love white hydrangeas in a hedge near the house. I haven't ever had that but am working on it. Last year and this, I am planting roses. I put in 14 in 2020. This year I want to add 'Old World Roses but need a good nursery that can ship. Please share a few if you can. Thank you for this delightful vlog on Blue Cut Flowers for the Garden. Really enjoyed it. I will be putting a few in per your suggestions.

Umm excuse me have you ever planted Blue Mallow plants I was wondering if you have any information on the Blue Mallow plant? I tried searching for it but there's not much information of it on season preference since my location is more on the tropical side (summer season) I'm just worried if it'll survive in my country since there's not much video information on how to care that type of plant.
I'm a bit of a tea enthusiast that I wanted to plant herbs and flowers that are good for spices and tea, I'm just started out and I wanted to plant some more different herbal plants that's not just for decoration purposes only.

Crazy that just yesterday I thought to myself, I have GOT to find a resource for finding out which flowers actually bloom a true blue hue rather than a purple flower that has blue in the name. Then, here you are with your list of exactly what I was looking for! I absolutely LOVE blue flowers. Blue hydrangeas are my favorite of all time. I live in the South, so with a little soil amendment, we can grow beautiful ones. Thank you so much for creating this video! I had to save it because Im sure Ill be needing to refer to it periodically as I fill my flowerbeds!

I LOVE what you did with the blue flowers video. I was wondering if you may have a video similar that has red &/or white flowers too? I'm in TX and want to do a TX shaped flowerbed around my front tree. I want to do red, white, and blue flowers. I first needed to figure out the true blue flowers and you helped me a great deal there. I'm having trouble with red though and I plan to use Shasta Daisies for the white and maybe a few others. Any help would be great appreciated. I'm in zone 8a, NE TX.

Love lobelia, I had a dear friend that used to combine the annual with her gorgeous red geraniums in terra cotta pots. Really lovely. Also, here in the midwest, the blues also you can get with a lilac called President Lincoln, like a Wedgwood blue. Also had a question, how about Nepeta, I know there are purple varieties, but some of them, Ive only seen pictures, look blue. Also called Catmint. Also Veronica and blue salvia is quite pretty. Thank you.
