Really Hoping All These Plants Dont Die! Garden Answer Christine: Wondering if and/or how you harden off your plants between the greenhouse and planting them in the ground. In the last few videos it seems like you are taking them straight from the greenhouse to the ground. Is it just the area you live in with its particular weather that allows you to do that? In my area I have to let the plants sit in the shade for a few days before they can handle direct sunlight in the open air. It seems like your new garden is really starting to take shape! Very exciting! Absolutely LOVE your videos! Thank you for taking the time to set up the camera so many times in this video so we can follow along with what you are doing!

Where do you get your hollyhocks? Or do you start them from seed?
They were one of my grandma's favorites when I was little. In my teens I had success with them. After I finished college, rust. It was so sad I stopped growing them, and I researched the problem and apparently it is a very common issue. Literally, I haven't tried them in years until last fall and I saw some for 1$ each, so I bought three. They looked great this spring for a month or two, once they started putting height on - Rust. The blooms still look good, but I already have lemon grass ready to replace them when the blooms stop because the foliage is too sad to look at.

It's never a fail, it's a learning process. We all understand because we have all had the same thing happen to us with our gardens. You all have a much bigger garden to keep up with. I don't see how you do what you all do. My goodness, to be young again. It is going to be beautiful mid-summer on that property as everything takes off and matures. Can't wait to see the blooms start really coming on. Thanks for posting Laura. I enjoy every video. Stay safe, stay well.

Hi, do you know what type of creator loves to eat on Calendulas? I just got home from camping this father's Day weekend to find that the three Calendulas plants closest to some Lilac bushes have been attacked by something. I haven't see any signs of voles or deer, but the stem of the plant and the flowers have been chewed on, yet the Zinnias and Shasta Daisy on either side are fine and the Calendulas at the other end of the bed are blooming beautifully.

Laura, you and Aaron have taken on such a challenge, and are doing so well with it. Surely the sequence of getting everything ready has made you anxious, but now you are really putting more things in place and hopefully you are both beginning to relax into it. I'm so proud of you for stepping into new territory, and grateful you are taking us along for the learning experience. Thanks for all you do to share with us.

Im thankful you share your tips AND fails, because im also starting a cut flower garden, on a smaller scale though, and its so nice to share everything. If anyone in the comments have any tips, let me know!

Johnnys Selected Seeds got $130 from me this season because of you. I also got Potomac snapdragons in the color orange coral. Theyre mixed in with magenta color celosia. Our vegetable garden is full of their seeds as well. Also bought lots of their zinnia seeds. Ill probably double everything I ordered from them but try out a ton new stuff. Also have a bunch of their tomatoes growing!
