I'm FINALLY Planting in the Moon Garden! Garden Answer Christina: I have to say that I love the moonlight garden. I love the structure of the arborvitaes, the urns are MAGNIFICENT, the placement of the delphiniums, king tuts. the different heights, yet repeated is my absolute favorite. Also the box woods on the opposite side of the brick path, surrounding the maples, with the white diamond mountain ( I think you had petunias in there last year) is completely my jam. It feels organized, balanced and I just love it. Thank you and your cute family for all the inspiration, and willing opening your life to those of us who love to learn! You are blessed with a sweet supportive husband and son, and I so admire your work ethic and happy attitude!

I love, love, love your Mom! She has so much energy and is ALWAYS laughing and smiling! So cute and fun, especially with Benjamin. Please tell her she has a fan!
Have you considered planting Snow in Summer in your moon garden? My Dad had it in our front yard when I was growing up and total strangers would stop and ask what it was.
I know you are SUPER busy and lighting and such is difficult, but a tour of the moon garden at night would be wonderful. Maybe in a year or two?
This is just me (and I'm sure I'm not alone) but the background sounds of construction don't bother me at all. I hope that helps de-stress your life a little bit!

How about some black iron structure in your moon garden? Something like a double arbor that is crossed and has 4 corners repeated down the sidewalk. Each crossed arbor will create a window on one side to view your urns and a window on the other side of the sidewalk for some kind of concrete bench opposite the urns in your blank space. As well, you can grow some white climbing roses, white clematis, white honeysuckle, white jasmine and white wisteria all in bloom at different times over the arbors. It will also provide a little shade underneath for gardenias. It will smell heavenly in your moon garden!

What if you planted white Veronica behind the boxwood hedges? I have a structured moonlight garden with my box woods in the shape of an X. The strong upright Veronica looks pretty against my boxwood. Just a thought where you at a loss. Limelights would also be stunning behind the boxwoods. My area is harsh afternoon sun, so limelights wont survive in my area, but I have limelights behind my boxwoods in front of my porch and they look stunning.

I so wish I had access to the variety of proven winners plants that you do Laura! Our area just doesnt have certain varieties like Supertunia Latte or white wands Veronica. I love how no matter how many videos or how many plants you have and grow that your passion and excitement for them shines through as you talks about each and every single one of them.

All you need now is a moon gate or two, out of brick/concrete. I'm looking at you, Aaron! There's nothing better than watching a Child pick food and be able to immediately put it in their mouths. just like nature intended!
Love that King Tut papyrus. gonna try some. wonder if I can make paper?

Hi Laura! I had to laugh when you realized that you forgot to pick up Aaron! It's always fun seeing you, Aaron and Benjamin sharing time together. The moon garden is coming along beautifully! It will be fun seeing everything later on once it starts to fill in. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hi Laura, 2 questions.
1) Are the egg plants only for ornamental purpose or will they make way to your kitchen?
2) what is that grass like shrub with orange conical blooms at the end of the moon garden, could you please put up its name tag on the screen?
Thank you!

I'm curious why I don't ever see you use moss in your landscape? I think Scotch moss would look especially beautiful and whimsical in area's of your garden and even on some of the rock walls in your mom's garden. Needless to say I'm obsessed with your style of gardening!
