Planting a New Variety of Hydrangea! Garden Answer Ger: Equestrian sculptures would look good in that corner with the backdrop behind the fence; also an old model (A) work truck would look very good in this area along with the shrubs. Few teak benches and Adirondacks chairs too so you can sit down and enjoy not only your garden but the views around there. Thank you for sharing the hydrangeas. they're becoming a world all by them. I'm glad they're propagating many of them. Keep them away from the front walkways, a lot of people like to walk by and steal bouquets of hydrangeas and then you come out there and there's no flowers left. Flowers heads are just awesome!

Low maintenance hydrangeas. I wish! I have 3 beautiful blue-blooming hydrangeas that for the past couple years have suffered so badly from fungal leaf spot issues. Hydrangeas are one of my most favorite plants and I love the blue/purple dark blooms but I guess I'll have to replace them with one of the improved varieties. Does anyone know if these types of hydrangeas have fungal issues? I will surely miss the old timey plants but in hot, humid eastern NC those are the brakes! I'm looking forward to seeing how all the soil amending affects these plants, and how y'all transform the new land!

I always get something from your videos, Laura. This one I learned that it's ok to plant in natural unamended soil. I've been doing it this way and just adding some black garden soil that has some nutrients and peat moss mix into the hole because my native soil is sand. I'm gardening on a low budget and would not be able to amend a huge area at one time. Thanks for showing us that. I'm struggling with bindweed and the more I pull the more they grow. Can you please tell me what type of spray you use on them and if its ok to spray it around other plants.

Hi Laura and Aaron! I loved when there were multiple Laura's and then there were multiple Aaron's, too! Fantastic editing! Those new hydrangeas will be beautiful when they bloom! I'm so glad you were able to save them. The black lace elderberry will be stunning behind them. The arborvitae hedge is looking fantastic, especially after you removed the dead one and planted the new one. LOL! Your hair looks so pretty, but then it always does. Glad you got the new vans, too! Thank you for sharing!

My yard is full of oak trees, so since they cause the soil to have a high ph should I be using a soil acidifier too? What is a good type of grass to have under oak trees? Since we have so many oak trees, moss is a major issue in the lawn as well, and in our backyard we have a horrible time even getting the grass to grow. We also have clay soil, so that doesn't help matters any. We live in zone 8b.

Thank you for your videos! I live in Kenosha, WI where there is civil unrest and your videos have been the only thing to distract me and help me feel some sort of normalcy. Ive just purchased 10 hydrangeas (5 different types) for our one acre property. Can I plant them now or wait another month when were closer to fall? Thanks for what you and Aaron do!

Everyone is mentioning the fresh hair and new shoes both look great btw. and I was wondering last week what shoes you wear, vans? and do you find them to be comfy when on your feet to do all the work outdoors you do. no foot leg pain at the end of the day? Assuming they work for you as you appear to have bought the exact shoes you always wear.

I hope next year you get to do an update when these hydrangeas are in bloom. And see you is there got me wondering about the tools you and Aaron use. I've seen the other tool videos, but I'm not seeing one about the hubby centric ones. Any chance for one in the future? I'm as green as your plants seeing all the augers used with that drill.

Laura, I LOVE the color of these hydrangeas! So, if they go to a zone 8. does that mean I can't grow them in Zone 9b? I'm in southern cal and our heat is about the same as yours. Of course our winters are different! Can you please help me understand the zone difference when our summer heat is close? Thanks so much. I want these hydrangeas!

Hi Laura, I just planted full bloom hydrangeas Sunday and theyre wilted already. I added only garden soil to my dirt. And we also have a mister on 3 times a week. Also I put it in part shade. Morning sun and afternoon shade is where my flower bed is with them. How are they wilted already? Can you help me please? Lol
