Shrub Haul and Planting! Garden Answer Sabrina: Love this selection! Do you have a video or can you make one talking about what to plant for clay soils? My neighborhood was made by cutting into the land, so it's like 100% clay and super compacted from all the construction machines. Everyone in the neighborhood has been having plant issues. They're all dying! Even if they dig double the size of the plant. Just not sure what to do here. You'd be helping an entire community of struggling gardeners. Bentonville, Arkansas.

Hi Laura and Aaron! Nice choices on the plants for the West side! The Butterfly Bushes are my favorite! I think you guys need to go back to Far West Nursery and get the Pinky Winky Hydrangeas, or order them from PW, or have your Mom and Dad order them for you. They would be so pretty in the urns. I'm so glad you decided not to do the moon garden. It will be so much prettier with a variety of colors. I'm anxious to see what else you add! Thank you so much for sharing!

Love your posts! Ive bought a bunch of butterfly bushes for our yard because of your posts! Love the pugster blue! Can you tell me the name of the red tall flowers globe like flowers just to the left of the low and behold butterfly bushes in the video? Im looking for some red or deep purple accents that are deer resistant perennials! Thanks for all your enthusiasm about your plants!

Love the video of the monarch. it was a boy monarch! Wow, what has Aaron been giving those arbs to make them grow so fast? I ALMOST bought a buttonbush this year, but it'll have to wait till next year. It's strange, I have a few butterfly bushes in an area that gets flooded every spring and I've never had a problem with them rotting. We are pretty sandy here though.

Still euphoric from your new pond video!
Butterfly bushes are almost maintenance free! They love central Texas' alkaline soil, little water and heat. They can bloom twice a year if you dead head the blooms!
QUESTION: How long does it take to auger out a hole for the 5 gallon cans?
Thank you again for great video content.

I was wondering if youd need to move that viburnum over. what do you do if a year or so in you realise it needs shifting by a couple feet? Do you move it? Or just leave it? I started my garden this year and had to adjust plants as they grew! Like you, I dont believe the tags and like to pack things full! Thanks Laura!

Please please please tell me what you guys do to your arbvitorie trees to get them to grow so quickly and look so great? I planted a line of arborvitae trees along our driveway last season and I really want to get them looking like yours do as quickly as possible! Really need them to block out our neighbors house.

Kinda off topic, -ish. So during my short lunch break from my virtual classes with my school kids today, I was like, Laura tell me you have something I can watch in15 minutes. and here it was.
Needless to say I enjoyed my short lunch break and I'm soooo loving the butterfly bushes!

I'm in zone 7b. I am planning on planting my 5 David Austin rose's tomorrow. that arrived last week. And I have a Black Knight Butterfly bush also to plant.
I'm so glad I watched this about the root ball of the Butterfly bush.
I hope my rose's do well. I absolutely love them.

In one part of the video, I saw tall grass/weeds on the back side of the fence and I'm guessing that is not part of your property. How do you deal with those weeds invading your bed? Part of my property adjoins a farm field and I struggle so much with that edge.
