Planting 24 GORGEOUS Containers with Bulbs + Tips to Get Them to Survive Winter! Garden Answer Michelle: I did tulips and daffodils in my containers last year. left them in my unheated garage and watered them with snow. I took everything out when i was seeing green shoots in late March, but we still had freezing temps that ended up killing the daffodils and hyacinths i planted. (The green shoots stopped growing and died) She's saying tulips can't handle the cold as well as other stuff, but my experience was the opposite. Tulips do the best in containers for me! Zone 5b. I'm only planting daffs and hyacinths in the ground this year

Nice, informative video.
One thing though--pink daffodils are a marketing ploy. Those package & web pix (like so many flowering plant marketing pix, especially online) are always photoshopped.
Between friends, family myself we've tried all the supposedly pink ones & the closest to pink any daffodil gets is what I'd call peach. Possibly pinkish-peach, at best.
All Marketers are Liars.

Im in zone 3-4 - gets down to minus 40 on the winter. I plant tulips in large pots like you show in this video and then I bury the pots in my raised vegetable garden just to the top of the container. Right now those containers are under 3 feet of snow. I also have tulips in the ground in various spots throughout the garden. I get beautiful blooms every year

I bought the fungicide, Bonide Copper Fungicide on one of you videos from garden supply. The local tractor supply company had it. I have struggled with bottom rot and early blight on tomatoes and every season I cannot get rid of it. Even tried spoiled milk this year. How often can I apply it? I was thinking once a week?

We live in Zone 7A but we do get some major freezing temps that can last for days. I'm going to plant in containers for the first time trying. Is there a follow up video as to how Laura's turned out? Planning to get the Espoma potting mix and bulb Tone soon. Can someone please help. Thank you in advance.

I just moved to Alabama. I know that it isnt as cold here as it is in Oregon but since this is the first winter I have been here i Have a question about over wintering the plants in the ground. Is mulching enough to keep the plants in the ground safe during the winter? Thanks Tab Kerwin

Im in the PNW zone 8. Id love to do bulbs in containers this year and winter them outside. I would love to plant some winter ornamental cabbage and trailing plants over top the bulbs to keep containers looking beautiful all season. Any advice for over planting bulbs for the winter

NO to ivy in the Pacific NW! Can't believe you even said it. Please regardless of where you live, review your National and State Noxious and Invasive Plant List - they exist for a reason. Thanks for protecting forests and waterways everywhere, in every way possible!

Thank you for this video! I live in Zone 6 and dont have enough room in my garage to store planters over the winter. If I keep bulbs in the refrigerator over the winter, when is it safe to plant them in planters in the spring? Will that work in Zone 6? Thank you!

I also live in Oregon, but a Zone 8. I have always planted in the fall and left them outside. No matter the winter, normal, warm, really wet, or really cold, they always come back, and reproduce. I can then just leave them for the next year.
