Planting a Container Salsa Garden! Garden Answer Elizabeth: I just have to say kudos to you for wearing the pants & shirt to protect your skin from the sun! I'm 44, and am really noticing more sun damage, especially on my left side (from driving. I am curious if you wear sunscreen at all? In NC it's humid, so we have to rely more on sunscreen & hats than long sleeves & pants. And I definitely want to get myself a galvanized bucket like that to try a salsa garden too!

I plant kid size veggies like cherry tomatoes, snacking peppers, short and sweet carrots, lemon cucumbers, strawberries, and radishes in pots around the swimming pool. I also plant herbs there so the kids can snack straight off the plant and create their own recipes. Weve decided that a cracker with mozzarella can be topped with oregano, basil, chive, and a cherry tomato to make mini pizzas.

Love the idea of a salsa garden, I am going to have to do this next year! (Our growing season is a bit shorter here in Ireland) You mentioned in a previous video that sometimes it is difficult to find new ways to share plants with us - I would love to see more of your takes on different gardens like this. A tea garden sounds really interesting!
Cheers from Galway!

Hi Laura wouldn't it be hard to grow tomatoes and cilantro in the same container? My understanding is that tomatoes need a lot of sun and cilantros are very sensitive to a lot of sun how does that work in the same pot? I live in a zone 9 and during the summer we get massive heat and there's no way that the cilantro would survive in a pot with that much sun.

Have you had problems with the emitters getting plugged in your brown quarter inch tubing with drip emitters every 6 inches? We have hard water too. I used a different brand but same type of drip tubing for my raised garden bed, and this is year 2 for the drip tubing and I have many places where 1 or more emitters in a row are plugged.

Hey Laura, I have become a gardener overtime because of your videos and am so proud I found out how green mu thumb was. I am having some issues with my cucumber plant. I started to see fruit on the vines and got so excited and then came out the next day to some yellowing leaves. What is happening? Is this normal?

Hey Laura! Have you had to deal with cutting down on water because of the dry winter and spring? I live in Utah and we are having severe drought conditions so we can not water our grass and gardens as much and it is hard to see our beautiful grass drying out and my flowers wilting.

Am I the only person that is finding literally all potting mixes and potting soils to be nothing but wood chips? I have looked through every bag I can find near me and in the city and its woodchips! Will have to find the potting mix you are using online and give it a try.

I know you've previously done a video on sharpening your Felcos, but approximately how often do you do so? I notice you use them for cutting everything! I have to sharpen pretty often, so I'm wondering if I just don't take long enough when I do.

I thought cilantro is a cool weather plant. It never grows for me when I plant it in late May. I live in high desert in zone 5/6 in the Salt Lake Valley. What am I doing wrong? I have tried starts and seeds both in ground and in pots.
