Planting a Succulent Terrarium & an Update on One Thats Nearly 3 Years Old! Garden Answer Michele: Love it! Thank you so much for showing us this. I recently did a succulent and cactus planting with my grandson. I never knew you could tear away some of the roots that way? As gardeners we are always taught to try and not disturb the root ball of anything! So my question is. how do you know exactly how much water to give your succulents when you initially plant them? And then how do you guage when they need watered again? Some of mine did fine while others dried up and died.

Love all your videos guys. Really! Look forward to them everyday. If you wouldnt mind a little advice. Is anyone is like me, we are watching and enjoying and then suddenly its over and you are saying see you in the next one and I dont have enough time to like the video before the next one is queued. I always go back. But maybe have a longer outro or screen with all your platforms etc. It would give us slower to respond people more time to like.

I love succulents and have planted a few arrangements however I do not have a consistently bright enough area in my home to display them. they often end up stretching or under my grow light in the basement which I feel kinda defeats the purpose of having a lovely arrangement, any suggestions

Hi Laura and Aaron! The 3 year old terrarium looks fantastic! I really like the one you did today, too. Where did you find the terrarium? I love the look of it! I don't have good luck with succulents, but would like to try one using the Hydro Stones. Thank you so much for sharing!

Your killing me here LOL! I need a link for THAT particular ball topped terrarium. Cant find one with that base. Love your videos! Watch them each morning with my coffee. Thank you for helping me shift my Texas farming skills to Northwest gardening!

So, I have a question. If you move all these plants and seed trays out to the barn and you wake up to 3 ft of snow. will you bundle up, and trudge out to the barn? Seems like it would be nicer to stay in your warm home and plant away.

Not sure if I missed it, but did you mention anything about lighting when it comes to terrariums or these cacti in general? I tried growing aloe twice but killed it both times and not sure if it was from over or under exposure to sun!

I always stick my fingers on my succulents soil to check if they need water so i never put dressing on them. So, you remove some rocks to water or just guess when they need water? How do you do it? I'd like to make one for my mom

Love your videos. I was able to purchase a box of 50 from Mountain Crest this year. They were gorgeous. I have had them inside now for about a month, all are thriving, but the Haworthia has a few browning tips, any suggestions

Love the container! Question? When you propagate a succulent by laying the leaf on soil and water till roots form and little new leaves appear what happens next? Do I quite watering everyday and cut off the old original leaf?
