Transferring Perennials & Shrubs from Fall Containers to the Landscape + Fall Porch Cleanup! Sandy: Hi Laura and Aaron! Aaron, you are such a wonderful husband for always being willing to help out when needed. I know you do it all the time, but you're getting more attention now. It's always good seeing you in the videos and I hope you will keep on being in them. You guys got a lot done and it looks really good. I used to plant purple fountain grass in my 2 biggest containers every year because they are my favorite grass, but had to quit because of the roots. They were so massive and I was having trouble digging them out every year (arthritis in hands. I really miss having them and haven't found the perfect perennial to replace their beauty. I may just go back to buying them again and suffer the consequences. LOL! It's always good seeing cheddar and Russel in the videos. Thank you so much for sharing!

I'm not a fan of Christmas, but today I did do a little festive arrangement in my rusty iron planter using pine boughs I picked up from the community yard waste site, I hacked off some boxwood branches from my dying shrub and placed hydrangea blooms in the center. It looks so nice, especially after I cut back the surrounding plants. It really stands out. It was our last gasp of warm weather (50 degrees. I may cut some arborvitae foliage for variety of interest. All free!

Laura, as Aaron was picking that leaf out of your hair, I thought that in the four years that I have been watching Garden Answer, I do believe that that is the first time I have ever seen either one of you being openly affectionate to each other! I don't know about anybody else but I know I enjoyed watching you guys being affectionate to each other

I have to say I LOVE that you dont have an intro song and intro montage on your videos! For those of us who watch every morning (I watch while Im doing my hair getting ready for work ) or when life gets in the way and Im watching a few episodes back to back its so nice to just hear the Hey guys! Hows it going? and watch! Thank you for that!

I followed your advice this time last year and put a few shrubs in the ground because as you say, they are better in the ground than in their nursery can- they all did great and I didnt loose a single one. I did apply a good layer of mulch to stop them from heaving due to the frost and thaw cycle of Winter- so glad I took the risk!

Aaron is such a gem! Have shove or auger will dig! And yes! orange is a most beautiful color! Could you bring both kitties together and give a quick who's who at a glance? so I can tell them apart! I check toes (LOL) and just noticed that one has a white chest. but it takes a few seconds to figure out which is which.

Question on little lime hydrangea, I bought one last summer and this spring read the instructions incorrectly. Instead of cutting it back by a third of its size, I cut it back to a third (twice as much. It didn't look great this summer, when I realized my error. Do you think it might bounce back next year?

Hi Laura! Will you bring the tater tot arborvitaes inside for the winter? I have Golden Gem arborvitaes in containers now and I'm wondering if I need to overwinter them somewhere since they're in containers. I live in Zone 5b, and the Golden Gems are Zone 4-8. Thank you!

What's the story with the arb in that beautiful square terracotta planter by the coop? It looks like it needs a hole in the ground and the container needs something colorful. Also its not square to the coop and that would stress me out. no its not a trigger.
