Shopping Our Root Cellar to Make a Butternut Squash Penne Pasta Dish + Bulb Planting
video description
Which reminds me, when I first planted my bulbs within days the soil and outside of the bulb appeared to have mold spores [I think because I was showing them too much love. I quickly repotted both, careful of no cross contamination and have been watering them much less. It's now been weeks and I've only recently noticed a few spots of fuzziness on the soil (not so much on the bulb) and didnt know whether my soil or water was the problem?
I'm worried that I'm killing my bulbs

Watching during making dinner, usually watch you on my front porch, but those cold nights are coming quick! I'm giggling about your pot of pasta boiling over because that is so me! In fact Im giggling at myself too, because while watching and cooking I put my phone on video pause, set it down, and then couldn't find it again! I was like Laura where are you? I can't find you! The recipe looks amazing, saving this one for this weekend! Thank you sunshine!

Thank you so much for your daily dose of inspiration! I have a question about bulbs planted in pots. I have stored my pots in my cold cellar and the tulips have sprouted already. I live in zone 5 in Canada and the temp in the cold cellar has been between 40-50F. The tulips have pale yellow/white growth of about 2-3. The bulbs really haven't been chilled long enough - is there a way I can slow them down?

Hello! I caught your video share with Claus Dalby, and hopped on to watch some his bulb plantings and I noticed he had this handy dandy bulb planter. It looked like you step on it shovel style and kind of punch it into the ground and it makes this perfect hole for the bulb. Have you ever tried this and does it work or not work so you went another route (auger. Loads of inspiration found here, thank you!

I know this has nothing to do with your video but prayers would be appreciated for my 18 year old grandson who is going through the crucible starting today at 2: 00 this morning. The crucible is 54hrs and includes food and sleep deprivation (8hrs of sleep) and over 45 miles of marching. Thank you in advance

Oh yum! This is going on the menu! You should have your mom show us how to make the chicken pot pie in the pumpkin (or was it squash) that you mentioned awhile ago! You could help but rest at the same time. Oh oh and what about the soup you talked about (garlic cream. That would be a really good one too!

Dear Laura, the way you grow flowers and shrubs, you're able to produce 10 times and more food than what you've stored in that cellar. Of course any amount of food homegrown is worth celebration. I just know you can do a ton more. Look forward to the time you harvest your own fruit!

I love the way Benjamin is always interested in everything you are doing. He knows to listen to you about touching and smelling. lol Sweet. Dinner looks delicious. I don't know how you keep up with everything. I thought it was funny when Benjamin said the drone hit the tree. lol

This recipe looked so delicious that I decided to try it last night! I only had frozen butternut squash, but when I cooked it in the pan it turned into a sauce, so it was actually perfect! I also used mild Italian sausage - so yummy! Thank you for the inspiration.
