Our Annual Foraging Trip! Garden Answer Beverly: Earlier in the Fall I happened to see a video you made a while ago about 4 winter arrangements in containers where you used the red dogwood. I have been on a quest ever since to locate and so far unsuccessful. I always assumed you had this growing in on your property. Ive ordered one from Proven Winners to be shipped in the Spring but just wonder why you dont have one on your property? I even considered artificial red branches from Joannes etc. but decided against. Your videos are so inspiring and so appreciated!

I love It! I went foraging down our road last weekend. I gathered pine boughs, honeysuckle (invasive) berries, and juniper boughs. I had to drive to get sumac, but the cones looked really ragged. I was able to get some teasel in the same spot, though. I haven't tried to get the dogwood because it's in a rather swampy area. I made up two large pots in front of my porch and saved myself close to $100 from what the nursery chain was charging.

Laura you have the daffodils in the pots and the greenery will help protect them thru winter but what will you do with them after they bloom? Can you store them in you root cellar and plant them back in the pots next fall or do you have to plant them in the ground? Or just leave them in the pots? You have inspired me. I went and bought bulbs but I live I a apartment so I have 8 flower pots lol

Your videos always inspire me. in particular to plant in my garden plants that I can use in seasonal arrangements both outside and in. I planted an artic fire red twig dogwood to use in holiday containers 2 seasons ago. was wondering when cutting the branch to use, do you cut the branch to the ground or several inches from the soil? Appreciate your positive spirit. you are a blessing!

Whenever I see video of the natural landscape in your area, I am awed again by what you've done on your own property. the beautiful oasis of green and life you have created! The natural landscape has it's own beauty and appeal but it makes it very clear the time, effort and love you both put in to cultivating your land.

Lol I watched it on mute because my grand babies and my son were watching a movie, I wanted to be in the same room as them. I was excited to watch Laura with her mom on this annual outing they do and at the same time doing a picnic while sipping wine. I will have to watch again and listen to everything.

Beautiful drone footage. We know nothing about foraging here in Zimbabwe Africa or Should I say I don't know, there's no snowing anyway but Christmas time always exciting especially for me been watching and learning a lot from your videos about nature and lovely decos, gardening. Thanks Laura.

I am wondering if you are concerned at all about hurting the daffodil bulbs by puncturing them with the branches and twigs? I did similar pots and hesitated to put bulbs under the soil because I was afraid to hurt them, but would be thrilled to hear it works!

Fabulous drone footage! I was surprised to see you pour steaming water over bulbs. I guess it cools quickly through the cold soil, but also wonder, don't you run the risks of stabbing the bulbs with the dogwood stems?

Laura please be careful working in the field. Dont push yourself too hard. Time to go easy and lay back a little bit. Aaron can get a side job as photographer and editor. These videos are stunning! Love you guys!
