Refurbishing & Planting an Old Container for Our Vegetable Garden! Garden Answer Fitztastico: I'm not sure what you meant by hard water being an issue with your concrete containers unless that causes them to effloresce. If that's the case, you can use a concrete densifier to help with that issue when you purchase them. It cystalizes some of the byproducts of the concrete curing process and makes the surface much more dense in water is far less able to penetrate. I learned all this when I made my own concrete planters and sold them for several years. The products I bought is fairly cheap, is called water glass, and I believe is sodium silicate

I love what you did with the pot, the colour is fantastic, and I love the bit of shine on it. I love old pots and garden statuary, but Ive never painted it before. I will try it now. You cant even tell that the base is different. They look great together. I wanted you to choose the dark walnut colour, but you were spot on. The one you went with is perfect. Love your vids so much

Wow! Did not know you could stain concrete like that with simple wood stain! So, the rain guard is all you need to protect it from the weather or will it likely need to be touched up every year from being out in the elements? I have refinished wood and I know you need special exterior finish for certain outdoor wood projects, is concrete different?

LOVE to see you repurpose things (I try to do the same and most times the results are lovely. LOVE Benjamin helping and riding on the dolly! So darn cute! You are blessed to have Paul as your helper and friend! Can you update us on your hosta garden (at the 3: 00 minute mark? I remember you planting that up and it's been a while!

Hi Laura! The planter turned out really pretty. At first I thought the gray was better, but after seeing it in the vegetable garden, the brown is perfect! Loved seeing your little helper out there with you. The plants you chose look so pretty together. I'm anxious to see how they do later on. Thank you so much for sharing!

Please tell me The name of that hand truck and where I can buy one. Thanks for all the inspiration. Because of your educational/inspirational videos, I buy a serious amount of Espoma and Proven Winners products. Now? Now I really want that big blue hand truck.

You are such a trooper, cant imagine doing all you do in such heat! I am curious about something, I was wondering why you didnt put a T in the 1/4 drip instead of a splitter. Im sure you have a great reason! Benjamin is such a cutie!

You know, that gravel hides a multitude of sins! What a good idea to have it all over the place, to drive on, walk on, ride on, just everything you need, it absorbs water and dirt and hides all the stuff you don't want to see!
