Finding Quail Eggs and Trying to Save Them, Trimming our Willow and Cleaning a Fountain! Christal: Beautiful intro of you with the tree branches behind you! I'm in Texas with 100+ degrees already also, so I can relate with you! I'm loving this format! I'm so hoping the Quail eggs do ok. We just pore clothes washing bleach in our fountains and let stand a while before turning on the pumps. Make everything look new and does not hurt plant or animals, because it evaporates very quickly. I'm with you. gardening is just like house work. always something to do! Happy planting, Christal

I know she didn't do it on purpose, but my heart sank for the Mommy Quail. I understand why Laura did what she did and I agree it was the right thing to do, but my heart still breaks. Could you imagine getting rushed out of your home then to come back and find it gone and all of your babies with it. I know we all say it's life they'll move on that lay new eggs. but still think about it. Makes me wanna cry.

I really like when you share getting the much needed odds and ends chores done that maybe aren't pleasant or pretty but it's inspiring none the less. We all have the dirty chores we don't like doing in and around the garden and seeing you do them gives me that extra push to just get it done and out of the way, cause really, don't we all feel better after we knock that stuff out? Thanks Laura!

EDITING SUGGESTION for these kids of videos! It would be cool if you could morph the Before & After images together, like the willow tree or the corn plants - how it looked before pruning and how it looked after, by letting the images morph into each other. I have seen you edit more difficult looking things (like the Laura triplets ) It would be awesome if you could do that!

I like this format BUT I learn more from what I consider tutorials from your other videos. We don't mind you perspiring (women perspire, men sweat. LOL) I hope you'll consider rotating the different formats. But that's selfish of me knowing how much you need to do everyday to maintain as well as Aaron and Benjamin helping you. Thank you for all you do to teach us.

It's my first time planting vegetables. What is thinning? I couldn't really see how you were thinning the corn. How do you know which one to cut down to soil level? Is this something I do with the pumpkin seeds I planted as well? any tips on what else I should be doing with the corn and pumpkin I planted? I'm hoping for a good turn out. Thanks for your videos

Laura! Did you know that the Momma bird is actually in the video on the edge of the raised bed when you were harvesting the cabbage? Its In the clip at 1: 12 before you talked about finding the eggs.
I remember thinking holy crap why didnt that bird get scared and go away? And then seconds later you showed eggs lol!

Laura for your fountain try Aquapro tablets for the Algae you only need 1 small block every 2 months it wont hurt any wildlife that might visit the fountain and the block will keep it crystal clear, i have a 3 tiered fountain and i use these blocks and the birds visit the fountain to bathe and drink.

Laura, you are an absolute champ.
I have two young kids as well and am constantly finding complications to my daily tasks or discovering MORE tasks that require immediate attention, and then it feels like I can't get anything done. Gah! But you get your list DONE. Amazing work mama!

Yes, there are always things that come up that are not planned but must be attended. Thats awesome you had someone to incubate the quail eggs. Do you bring the flowering tops of basil into the kitchen? I love the way it fills my kitchen with that wonderful herb smell.
