Planting Garlic, Harvesting Pumpkins & Planting Some Stuff! Garden Answer Katelin: Thank you for sharing (yet again) your garlic process! I'm sure it seems tedious to explain this again but please know I really appreciate it: ) I have watched the older garlic videos SO MANY times haha so it is nice to get a fresh recap and love how you include new tips from what you've learned over the years. I also planted my garlic early. but I'm nervous it was TOO early! I'm in MA and we had very warm weather soon after I planted. I saw the sprouts and got excited - but haha. then they kept growing! I was planning to cover with mulch this week but was curious if you thought adding a hoop cover would be beneficial. Or do you think they will be fine through the winter?

I planted a Tigers Eye Sumac after watching the video where you planted your three. Weve had an extremely dry summer & early fall so the sumac and nearly all of the shrubs and trees have suffered. Fingers crossed the sumac - and everything else! - will make it through the winter and come back stronger than ever. Will be running drip to areas where its feasible next year but will still need to pull hoses (Hoselink + extra 100) in some places! I have a large wooden planter that I want to try growing garlic in best I can do until next year when we add in new raised beds! Thanks for another fun and inspiring video!

I havent had to buy garlic in a long time that is my goal too. I only have patio containers now, but I got tenacity. I live in SW Washington, and have full sun and light dappled sun too. I just bought at the nursery 2 kind of hard neck garlic, one is rocambole and the other is porcelain. While not a long keeper, I still hope the tiny bulbils will allow me to grow them annually.

Thank you showing us how to do so many garden tasks. I have been so inspired. My backyard is now a lush refuge during these odd times. One question on your garlic, you decided to start your garlic a month earlier. I was wondering why? Does it have the same approximate days to harvest? So will you still be harvesting at the beginning of July?

We have a lilac that really needs major pruning, but Ive been holding off since Laura mentioned doing a restoration prune on that lilac in the west garden. Will you be doing that? It would be very helpful to see how its done and the results down the road. Thank you for all you do to help me in my fledgling understanding of gardening.

I really enjoy watching you fill in the spaces in the south garden. Its almost like putting the pieces of a puzzle together and getting that satisfaction with every space being filled. I cant wait to see everything in the spring. Its amazing how much you have done this year. Great job you, Aron and Benjamin.

I just have to say youre my absolute favorite to watch and even though I know you dont care to hear it, you were having a great hair day and you must have the dirtiest feet in all the land! (Im slightly jealous, our goathead population is too large)

Laura, Aaron, How are your neighbors enjoying not having as many dust clouds when a wind storm comes rolling through your property? Also, have you staked the bush on the side of your house next to the underside access (where the bees nest was?

Your gardens are always so beautiful and I really enjoy learning from you. You definitely inspired me to freshen up our flower bed and I have even started 3 more since last year! Thank you for sharing your passion for gardening with us.

The sumac are really pretty. In Kansas they grow wild in the country along hedge and fence rows. As a child, l knew them as poison sumac and was always told to avoid them since they would cause a bad rash like poison ivy. Is this true?
