Butterfly Garden: Cleanup, Bulb Planting & Christmas Lights! Garden Answer SouthernNana: Rollie Pollies! Years ago my youngest son was asleep in my lap while I was watching my oldest son during a VBS program, all of a sudden I felt something crawling on my arms. I look down and see probably 20 rolllie pollies crawling around, took all I could do not to disturb the program with the surprise. A treasured memory. I have always tried to shop for and plant perennials but seeing watching the annuals in your gardens has given me motivation to use more annuals. What is your all-time favorite annual? Perennial?

I was trying to do some kind of lighted branches but couldnt quite figure out how to make them look pretty. I tried painting them and wrapping the whole clump with lights it wasnt right and I gave up in frustration! . Cut to two days later: Laura posts this video! I tried again using your steps and I am SO in love with how my new Christmas decorations turned out! I wrapped them in red and white and planted them into some pots, and they are the cutest! When my husband and I finished, I said, THANK YOU LAURA!

Hi Laura! What a fun video seeing the transformation of Benjamin's Butterfly Garden and him so willing to help with it! He's so precious! That was so nice of Linda to send you those bulbs. The tulips will be beautiful. I think the parrot tulips are my favorite. What a neat idea to wrap the branches with lights. Benjamin's garden looks so pretty. Thank you so much for sharing!

Our city has Jacaranda trees in the middle of one of the main roads. They floral wrap about 100 trees every winter for Christmas. It takes shutting down a lane of road and heavy machinery, but it's absolutely beautiful and I appreciate it every year. So much so, that I bought a Jacaranda tree for my front yard and was wondering how to do this myself. Thanks for the tutorial.

Wow! That is beautiful. Benjamin's butterfly garden turned into a Christmas wonderland! I cannot wait till spring to see your show of tulips. Love the idea of grouping them like you do - will you be leaving them there and planting around them for the summer?

This turned out so beautifully! I LOVE it. Can you share (again) Aaron's 'trick' to connect light strands w/o having a space between the light strands? The trick is genius but I cannot for the life of me remember how he did it. Thank you SO MUCH!

Beautiful! Such a great idea! And I cant wait to see the tulips in the spring. But what will you do after they bloom? Youll have all those bulbs in the ground and in the way of planting all your annuals. Will you dig them up?
