Several Landscape & Container Project Updates! Garden Answer Aisling: I have a question. I spent the last two and a half years developing my small back garden having been inspired so much by Garden Answer during lockdown and I especially love Russell and Cheddar around the place too. I lost my dog in Spring 2021 and found solace in the garden but missed having pet companion and picked up a little kitten last week. I'm now discovering the garden is a hazardous space for felines and just as the garden is coming into it's own. I obviously don't want any harm to come to her but I'm sad at the thought of having to stop growing so many lovely things. Clearly Russell and Cheddar aren't affected by the plants so what gives?

I have to ask again. How do you keep track of what you plant where and what is successful and what is not? Do you have a software program or note cards or a journal? I really want to set up a process now while I am beginning with my garden. Thank you so much for all of the company you provide to me. I really look forward to your videos.

Love LOVE Love this type of update or look back video. I really appreciate seeing the growth. because sometimes I get frustrated when I plant and they seem to take forever to fill in. This gives me a good Idea of how to gauge my expectations better. Please do more of these if possible with your already crazy schedules.

OK, Ive seen maybe three dozen videos of yours, and you are always so consistently happy! I know the plants love that and Im sure your family benefits from all your joy, but we all out here do too! Im very excited to start my own garden with my own new home in a year or two, thanks to your contagious Greenthumb joy.

Thank you Laura. I love to see the progression of beds and planters. You are so right about how important it is to look back. I take pictures of my beds and pots regularly. It helps me when I feel impatient or disheartened. It also helps when I go to redo them the following year to see what worked and didn't.

My Creeping Jenny doesn't do very well for me here in Zone 7. I also plant Pansies in the Fall for a beautiful display of color until Summer. One year I found Pansies on Sale and planted 84 Pansies in one large flower bed, yellow, purple and white. I had people stop and tell me how much they enjoyed them.

I bought peace lily recently. It looked super healthy nice glossy green leaves when I bought it, but after a few days, the leaves started browning. I live in Perth, not sure if it is the desalinated water that is causing the issue. How can I can make sure I get green glossy leaves back on my peace lily?

The damage on that sweet potato vine reminds me of the damage japanese beetles did on my hostas last year. it was terrible. I know you said you dont deal with them in your area. but I wonder if the wonky weather (change in zones and extra rain) have led to new problems for oregon I hope not!

Is there a chance that someone dumped something in the container with the sweet potato vine? I had someone try to kill a plant I was babysitting for someone in the last office I worked in. We were dealing with something oily, but in researching that we found pop could burn plants too.

I didn't realize how NICE having an auger was until I got one! I had a tree to plant and I was DREADING having to dig. I figured I would buy an auger, if I didn't like it, I could bring it back. GAME CHANGER! I am actually thinking of buying more plants JUST so I can use the auger!
