My favorite flower farming books! s
video description
I really keep pushing this question, because a couple of yrs ago, I picked flowers from my garden and placed them in jars at my garage sale. I had several nursery and floral shop owners give me SOOOOOOO MUCH
GRIEF. I ended up just throwing the bouquets away. They had me believing that I could go to jail or be fine a very hefty fee for not having a license to sell these flowers. I live in Indiana, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Regardless, I just want to be informed so I don't have legal issues.
Thanks

Did you take a course at all? Do you find it necessary? I have learned most of what I know just by trial and error and online resources. I'm thinking of taking things to the next level and am just wondering if courses are just too basic for someone who already is pretty experienced (not on a commercial level. Would just a few books be enough to help someone fill in the gaps?

From another of your videos, I bought Cool Flowers. I am retired and not looking for a job so I will not be -farming-. However, that book interested me because of the Fall planting information. I was not disappointed and am inspired to try it. Thank you for the information it is all very helpful.

Based on your enthusiasm, I picked up CUT FLOWER GARDEN and was impressed that it is so comprehensive. I don-t plan on selling flowers but I-ll use the book just as a guide to specific flowers and timing by season. Very few presenters give advice on the books they believe in. Thanks.

This book probably came out after your post, but I loved Floret's A Year In Flowers. I would also add The Flower Farmer by Lynn Bycynski. What A fun post, thank you for your recommendations.
