Hi Danielle! I feel so much smarter after watching this video. Thank you! The idea of harvesting the foliage separate from the blooms for arrangements is genius. I'm wondering, after you condition and move on to arranging, do you need to use the Quick Dip again as well as make the cross cuts to the bottom of the stem if you take more length off? Thanks again!

My mother passed away about 3 years ago when the lilacs were in bloom. They were some of her favorites so I made a really big vase full for her calling hours. People kept commenting on how beautiful they were. I'm sure you all know how many arrangements are at these events but everyone liked the lilacs over the expensive arrangements.

Hi Danielle! Thanks for all of your great information. I am learning lots from you! I have a question. Do you know what the ingredients in quick dip are? I want to use as few chemicals and manufactured products in growing and arranging as possible. Is there a homemade or more natural alternative?

great info! So I have a year 2 boomerang lilac in a pot and just getting blooms this year. While the blooms are plenty, I think I don-t want to cut the branches since it-s still a small shrub and I am afraid I won-t get much growth back and blooms next year? What-s you opinion on this?

Thank you for sharing, I love how clearly you explain and demonstrate your advice. After conditioning, if you have to trim the stem to work for your arrangement should you do a new cross-cut or is that only necessary for the conditioning step?

This is fantastic information. Lilacs are one of my favorite smelling flowers. I have a few lilac shrubs that are fairly new, so I'm not cutting too much yet. However, I do know where I can get some fresh branches. Appreciate the information.

Your thumbnail picture is just beautiful.
We can't grow lilacs in Georgia. As far as blooms, I guess our comparable plant would be crepe myrtle but no lovely smell.

Danielle, thanks for these tips. I look forward to trying the cuttings. How do you avoid bringing ants into the house? Do you dip the entire florettes section in water?

I was just wondering if the Lilacs were blooming yet.
Sadly, it's too hot where I live for Lilacs. .sigh. -

Thank you for the video. Can the quick dip be saved and used again a couple of more times before throwing out?

When you cut branches off a lilac, do you ever consider how the shape of the lilac shrub will be affected?
