Gladiolus Reimagined Getting Creative with Cut Gladiolus Flowers

The gladiolas flower has so much more to offer than just being a tall and stately line flower. This is a bloom that begs us to get creative! Use me! Change me! Alter my stem! It-s my opinion that the gladiola can appear stiff and dated because people equate them with delivery service flowers that lack movement, intrigue and artistry. This needn-t be the case. Gladiolus don-t have to be fanned out in big funeral arrangements or haphazardly stuck in a bucket like 4-foot swords. Rather, use each blossom as a delicate orchid-like bloom that embraces all the sophisticated beauty she so freely (and affordably) gives. What do you say my friends? Will you embrace the elegant side of the gladiola with me? I think your wallet and your vases will thank you

I love them too. I bought some end of fall maybe 3 yrs ago by now and forgot, found them last fall and planted with no expectations, they're blooming and they are Beautiful. You really know your way around using them to the fullest. And I too love old movies, old cars and just last night I bought a teal/aqua colored vintage looking coffee pot, honest no joke.

Oh Danielle, you are a wonderful storyteller! Your adoration of your grandmother is so precious. No wonder you have such a love of flowers, growing and arranging them. What an amazing tribute to her. --- I, too, love glads, as my sweet Momma called them. Lots of people associate them with funerals but I think they are stunning!

I planted some gladiolus in several garden beds this spring in a circle pattern instead of rows so they look like one big clump and compliment the flowers around them.
I just love those lavender ones! Wow! What a splendid arrangement you made! Such great tips, thanks for the encouragement.

I just love gladiolas and today I am ordering my bulbs. But what colors to choose? There are so many stunning colors I want them all lol! I loved seeing the photos of your Grandma - I feel that her influence in floral art lives on through you Danielle - and is being passed on to us in turn. Thanks for a wonderful video.

Danielle I have to tell you that you make some of the most stunning arrangements! I'm like you also and the fact that I love gladiolus I remember growing up in my granny's garden, helping her weed the flower garden and some of her very favorites were gladiolus as well so I always think of her when I see them.

Danielle, it was so nice to see your & grandma-s pictures! You haven-t changed a bit -.
I was wondering if you have a single video listing all the varieties of gladiolus, dahlias, sunflowers, zinnias etc that you planted this year. I am getting ready to order bulbs for next season-yoohoo!

Who is the person that gave this a thumbs down? This is the most stunning Gladiolus arrangement I have ever seen! Danielle you have to publish a book showing all your unique and beautiful arrangements that you have done. Also what is the name of that lilac colour Glad you used? I want it!

I have always loved Glads, no matter how I got them but I really do like how you arranged them. It has given them a whole new look and really does highlight the beauty of each individual flower. I need to add more to my garden, so far the gophers have left the glads alone unlike my lilies.

My mother and all her bridesmaids carried gladiolas at her wedding. They were spectacular some had shortened stems, and most were wired. Thanks for reminding me how lovely they can be. They always remind me of my parents.

What a great idea! I was wondering how you could add them to a bouquet with such short stems but the water tubes are perfect. They are such a beautiful flower and really do look so much softer using your methods.

Wonderful ideas of how to use them. You've just convinced me to buy some and give them a try next year. I love the flowers but had no idea how to use them in any type of arrangement. Thank you.

We are SO blessed if we have a grandma who teaches us to love flowers. Many great gardeners owe their passion for growing things to a grandparent. - love you my beautiful friend -- linda
