Let's spend a weekend in flowers together! We'll give some lumiere gladiolus away, chat and look at a florist harvest, and then set up the stand and enjoy a home grown arrangement. Hopefully it doesn't storm!

Your centerpiece is lovely, it's nice to have your own bouquet. Actually that's why I started cut flowers so I could do this as well. But ah this year I have bunny's and a groundhog along with all the squirrels. I have only really been able to have sunflowers one year after that the animals got wise and get to them and this year no zinnias the bunny's got to my zinnia bed. I just let them be it is what it is. If I grew for a living it would certainly be hard. But it's their home too. That's what happens when you create a beautiful space everything wants to enjoy and be surrounded by it. Love the hummingbird. I was the one who messaged you about the gladioli. I have not been able to plant because of the rain. I live in upstate NY so our weather is similar. I'm looking into storing them now. Take care.

Yes please do this again! I adore your flowers and garden so much. The stormy weather adds to the atmosphere. I can just imagine how you might be feeling, as the sound of the thunder gets louder. Gardening with beautiful flowers inspired me to never give up with my fight to survive a rare autoimmune condition that I got 20yrs ago when my children were still young. The garden is a therapeutic place to be and your garden makes me want to keep planting in anyway that I can. Are there many perennials that well sell well to florists and to people at your flower stand?

I loved watching this Danielle and would definitely love to see more as the season goes on. I have a question - did you direct sow your black swan poppy seeds? I have just managed to buy some seeds (as well as a scarlet peony poppy) and I think I should pretty much get them into my NZ winter garden about now. My aim for my cutting garden that I'm currently creating is to be able to take bouquets to the rest homes in our area. PS: I just adore that beautiful little Hummingbird! Sadly not a species we have here in New Zealand.

You do a beautiful job! Loved the bouquets! I can-t imagine how you can make a profit with only charging $10 for your bouquets. They look like they-re worth a lot more than that to me. I tried growing flowers for cutting this year, but things didn-t turn out well. There seems to be a big learning curve from veggies to flowers. Also, the triple digit temps since early June haven-t helped. No end in sight, either, very unusual for SE Idaho.

This is just a beautiful arrangement that you made. You have so many varieties! Is there a way to do a video showing all of your garden beds? I can't picture how many flower beds that you have in your yard that grow so many different flowers! It would be kind of nice to tie out each flower in that vase to the location in your yard where they are growing. Just a suggestion. Thank you!

Another great video! Can you talk a little about how you price your flowers? I sold some peonies to a florist this spring, one florist thought they were over priced but another must have thought they may have been under priced - she bought all I had left! Also, are the Asiatic Lillies the best type of Lilly to use for cut flowers? Thank you!
reply

The flowers are so very reasonably priced. At our local farmers market the sell for a least $20. Pleas tell at what stage of flowering I should purchase glads. I've see them for sale when they are still tightly budded and I've bought them that way too only to find that they fail to open. Thank you for thus dose of beauty.

Hi Danielle,
I love this weekend flower video. May I ask, what is the foliage plant mixed in with the Bells of Ireland at the base of your beautiful Sunday arrangement; just below the pink Lily? This is such a gorgeous bouquet, thank you for sharing. The Poppy seed heads look wonderful in the arrangement too.

I created a little -postage stamp- of a cutting garden this year. (It-s very small) My dream was to make a few bouquets to give away. Well, my dream has come true. The joy and surprise on people-s faces is so gratifying. You have actually inspired me to do this in a couple of your videos. Thank you! -

Great video! It'd be helpful to see you actually harvesting your flowers too.
I have a question about star flowers. I have seed, and it looks like there are individual dried packets in the flowers, as if the seed head was broken apart. Do I plant the individual piece, or break it apart? Thank you!

I always enjoy what you choose to show us! From your garden, to your how to's, how you transport arrangements, it gives us a glimpse of your passion and what brings you joy. As you aptly said, giving flowers to people is so satisfying. it truly fills me up when I do. Thank you for sharing!

I have a tip for you when you need to transport a vase in the car-. use a milk crate or any small box and place the vase in so the flowers are just over the edge and then pack the sides with newspaper or any pliable items. I-ve used sweatshirts and paper bags before -

Right now is a great time to get terrific heavy cardboard from grocery stores. Those big pallet size displays of watermelon are essentially flat cardboard on top of a wooden pallet. It's great to put over an area you want to develop, cover with wood chips.

What a treat for the eyes! You-ve certainly been busy growing so many new & unique things. It-s amazing also how healthy & productive they all are. I hope yr hard work brings you all the joy and financial gain you deserve. You are so good at this! --

We don't have hummingbirds in Australia - they must be absolutely tiny though! Lovely video all around. well done. Also. I don't get the stand - do people take the jars with them, or is there a roll of plastic bags they can use?
reply

If I am in your neighborhood, I would definitely get those beautiful bouquets you are making. You mentioned about an Amish gardener? Wouldn-t it be fun to pay them a visit and compare notes on growing methods?
reply

I love all your videos! The flowers are amazing and I learn so much from you-I am spoiled with so many hummingbirds in my garden but I haven-t ever had one build their nest here. That would be fun to see-

I grow my flowers to give away. I only hope the recipients how much care an love I put into these flowers. Those bouquets are only $10 at your stand, what a bargain for long lasting flowers.

I noticed that you said Blue macrophylla hydrangea and didn't specify. I love when you talk hydrangeas, especially varieties for cut flowers. Are you liking the paniculatas? They grow well for me.

Thanks for bringing us along! I loved watching everything from giving flowers to a neighbor to setting up your flower stand. and I absolutely loved the centerpiece you made. Just gorgeous!
