Help! SOS! LOL --- okay, so I am barely a gardener. I can grow some flowers but have no experience with bushes. I really, really wanted a hydrangea and today I dug the whole, planted it evenly, but it's flopping over so bad. It's all on the ground. I think the area I planted it is too much afternoon sun. I honestly thought it was a good spot but now that it's almost 4 o'clock it's too much sun. The bush was $50! If I dig it up and replant it elsewhere am I going to kill it? What should I do? I know it should have morning sun and afternoon shade but my farm is pretty much mostly sun. The areas that are shady are shady all day (from trees) I can find a shadier spot, I think. But I don't know what to do! I'm not a landscaper. I put it near a fence because it was a natural border but I think too much sun. Help!

Danielle, thank you for pointing out your nature shrubs - it was so helpful! I am a first year gardener in PA and everything looks super tiny in my foundation garden plus I have perennials but no shrubs yet. This tour helped me visualize how to select shrubs, what they will look like and how to keep continuity. One question - what is the shrub behind the mature winterberry at minute 8: 15? Looked like a davidii viburnum? Thanks again for the lovely tour. You saying -bless you, Grace- was so cute!

Great informative video. Funny thing, I just yesterday called a neighbor to ask what a shrub was around her tree, answer. some variety of spirea? Turns out it's your gold mound spirea, your gardens have really grown since I first started watching. So, will we get to see what's going on in your moms garden this summer?

I was just to Ken-s Garden/Nursery on Old Philadelphia Pike yesterday and WOW! What a nursery! I had to restrain myself. I am not close by in location (Lehigh Valley) but I am DEFINITELY going back soon. I loved it. Soooo many hydrangeas. I was like a kid in a candy store. Hahahaha.

This was a great idea Danelle! I always wonder what the plants will look like when they're mature versus what they look like when you buy them. So great! Is this the one gallon size we will get off we order from the Proven Winners website?

I would love to see you do a video about how to plan shrubbery/ flowers for landscaping. Any guidelines for good design? What to take into consideration? I love your videos. They are very helpful!

I don't know if you mentioned it and I missed it but didn't you have a beauty berry shrub? Curious because I bought one via proven winners this year. Wondering what it looked like.

Wonderful video to be able to see the baby and mature contrast. I love your gardens, it is so peaceful, I would love to have you design a space for me. Keep up your inspirational work.

Ninebark is a native deer resistant, beneficial to the birds (they eat the berries) and to to native bees and honey bees, particularly mining bees. Lovely plant, thanks for the video.

Tour Kousa dogwood is beautiful. Im Zone 9a, TX Gulf Coast area, and it isn't rated for my zone, but if it was, yours would have me completely inspired and motivated to get one!

This was very helpful. We have been planting our hydrangeas a little too close to the home but hoping we can keep them on the smaller side with spring pruning.

For anyone interested in the berry shrubs, I found out you can get Berry Poppins and Mr Poppins in one container! It-ll be about $10 cheaper that way, too.

Very helpful video! Not only is it helpful to see the mature versions but also to know how long it took to grow that big. Thank you!

Really love your video! Could you tell us about how do you keep bugs especially ants from cutting flowers? Like peony, ants love them.

I really like how you show the young plants - then the older, full size plants. VERY helpful!
Thank for sharing! -
