How proud your Grandmother must be of your accomplishments, Danielle! As far as your question about getting the seeds out to everyone at no cost, I think it would be totally appropriate to incur a profit from the sales of the seeds, and to create an annual grant in Martha Miller's name to something or someone connected to gardening that is close to your heart. To keep it simple, there are many organizations that you could partner with that are set up to do this. Just a suggestion to consider. PS - Love your picture in the annual Proven Winners annual Idea Book. Also, thanks for the book recommendations. I find this very helpful!

I am very envious of watching you work outside, it was -22C/-7. 6F last night and we got another 7 inches of snow where I live. Most of the snow had melted and the air was warm however Mother Nature threw us another curve ball, nothing unexpected but I am totally sick of this weather! I love your videos and I will be growing over 20 varieties of dahlias and wish I could get my hands on some of your dahlia seed however sending seed to Canada is a pain unless you are a large vendor like Johnny's. Can't wait to see how your seeds germinate!
Cheers from Alberta, Canada!

Violas are my favorite spring (and fall) flowers. I just planted 18 this week and they bring me such joy! Pansies are viola wittrockiana so all pansies are violas but violas are not pansies. I don’t have any ideas about pricing seeds but what if those who wish to purchase them send a self addressed stamped envelope to you (along with the cost of the seeds. Not sure if that covers all the bases you need covered but may help. I love all three dahlias and would love to have some seeds myself. (I tend to prefer the single, anemone and collarette types.

I've fallen in love with dahlias in the past few years. I dont know how I missed planting them earlier. You could figure out an average shipping /tax cost is and charge that amount to share your dahlias. I'd certainly be interested. I've got several boxes waiting to be planted as the dang gophers destroyed many of mine last year. All going in cages this year. Re: pansies, I'm in love with the ruffled varieties (as well as all others. Will definitely check out the book!

Danielle, you are so kind to be planning to offer your dahlia seeds at a price where you are just going to break even. However, I think your time, energy, and devotion to furthering your grandmother’s legacy justifies your turning a profit! (Unless you simply don’t want to have to deal with tax implications, etc. You could always donate your seed profit to a worthy related cause, like a dog charity, etc!

Hello from Joe The Grower in Pouughquag NY. Nice video. I grew up growing with my Grandmother. She wanted to see me married with children. Unfortunately she passed away and our twin girls were murdered. Trying to pic up the pieces in life and rebuild the greenhouses here. They are all crushed. Holding onto dream for a family.

Have you thought of doing a children's book collection where Grace is the main character in the series She would make a delightful host! I can see her already in art form in my minds eye playing with kids and/or up to mischief in the garden. Keep up the good work, but never get to big for your pansies!

Holy Smokes! I'm in 7A in North Delaware and didn't realize I could start with Pansies! We're having some nice early warm weather here and it looks like it should last throughout spring. I'm wondering what else I can get started.

I also just picked up Brenna’s Pansies’ book. She did a presentation locally, it was well attended and it’s wonderful to know there are lots of Pansy enthusiasts out there! Thank you for another terrific episode.

I am growing Frizzle-Sizzle raspberry pansies from seed! I don't have as many as you, but I have a full tray and will be planting them in hanging pots on my deck. I can't wait to put them out there!

Great video! Congrats on the dahlia success. Did you start all those violas/pansies They are GORGEOUS and I am, right now, witnessing some great pansies germinating in my little grow room. Can't wait!

Danielle, so happy to see your garden wake up, and I appreciated the heads up about pansies for sale this week. Now I want to read about pansies that I can use in a cut flower arrangement!

So cool about the dahlia. There is a black viola called sorbet black delight available from Swallowtail seeds and Geo seed. It has a small yellow eye though.
