A Wild Life with my Family

I have been off YouTube and off grid for the past few weeks exploring Canada with my wife, daughters and Cali, our Golden Retriever - three weeks of camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, filming and photographing wild scenes and wild life. My wife, Cali and I drive 13,000 kilometres from Ontario across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon Territory and Alaska. We're joined by our daughters Erin and Emily for a week in Kananaskis, Banff and Jasper before we part ways and the three of us head north on the Alaska highway through the northern Rockies and back down the Stewart Cassiar Highway east of the coastal mountains, camping in remote areas and fire evacuation zones. Along the way, we film log cabins, wild fires, grizzly and black bears, woodland caribou, elk, deer, bighorn sheep, fox, birds, mountains, rivers, clear blue lakes, glaciers, autumn colors and waterfalls.

Nothing like a nice catch up with Family Shawn. Good for your injured daughter too she's had a rough time lately. Cabin looks amazing. All that hard work and determination pays off you all deserved a bit of a rest. I am a retired carpenter and these days I ache all over after only a few hours in the shop. It all catches up in the end. I need a new knee, two new thumbs and have two burst spinal discs but I just keep taking the pills and push on in what is now a hobby. look forward to the next ones. stay safe.

Hello Shawn thank you for the video i am delighted you and your family had a nice time and man the wild fires are everywhere here in Oregon to we have one right close to the town i live in and it is getting so smoky can verily breath burning the eyes as well. rain is in the forecast but may be a lot of rain which then creates mud slides in the burnt areas with flooding as well. hang on to your hat lots of weather changes ' looking forward to your next video big hugs to you and Cali girl

Good to have you back on our screens both Cali and Sean, as you have been missed. Here is an idea for making extra cash to supplement your meager flow of the plastic, ever considered taking some photo stills and listing them to a Jigsaw production company to be made into several sizes of enjoyment for folks to do over winter months. Just an idea as surely there are Jigsaw manufacturers in Canada and USA. Anyway just one of my daft ideas I thought I'd pass on.

There is nothing like an epic road trip to clear one's mind and renew one's self, especially when family is part of the mix. So very glad you were able to make the time happen. I'm also encouraged by your philosophy regarding naturally occurring seasonal wildfires: while the loss of so many things occur, wildfires are nature's way of keeping the forests and wildlife populations healthy and vibrant over the many millions of years this planet has existed.

Nature is so beautiful when it's not destroyed by the common man and the corporations we rely on. You are living the dream that most city folk don't know it really exists. Thank you for sharing. Sincerely, man living in the giant parking lot that humanity built. We have trees and grass, but that's about it. Would you like fries with that?

The photography on your travels was so relaxing, especially the water falls, animals. It's amazing where you go on travels, to go as a family must have been so uplifting and sweet. Tell your wife she is so good with the camera.
Take care and we will see you at the cabin. Thank you once again for sharing your life with us all.

I just love your videos and I've been watching for a long time. I have a question for you in all your adventures of hunting and sightseeing how do you never get lost? Do you carry a compass with you? Have you ever had an encounter with a bear? BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

Sean, it's not difficult to understand the reason why you decided to live the life you are living. The place that you own and the place you and your wife, etc decided to have a holiday at as it's simply a absolutely stunningly beautiful area of the world!

A wonderful family. Watching your videos I discovered a lot about the nature of your country. I live in Vietnam of Asia, the nature and geography are completely different from your country.
I hope one day I can bring my whole family to your country

Absolutely beautiful photography Sean. We Canadians forget how beautiful our country is and the vast quantities of resources we have. Glad to have you back. Hope you had a good break, and got to spend some quality time with your wife and girls.

Looking at your video helps me see how the artist Bev Doolittle can paint her wonderful camouflage art. Especially the parts showing the reflections. Thank you for the beauty that you've shared with us. You have an incredible family.
