I met up with an old friend before making our way to a stocked back lake in search of splake. Expected to have an open lake to work with, we find ourselves having to work extra hard just to reach fish-able water. First we must cross a river which has washed out our access, then we find that the lake has frozen solid overnight. In order to reach the open water, we're forced to smash through a thick layer of ice that has formed overnight!
