I just got back from a backwoods trip in Algonquin last month - and your video series is -still- making me want to get out there again! -_- It's a fabulous series, and does a great job of capturing nature's beauty. One pays for the journey with toil, but is rewarded with grandeur. Thanks for sharing!

Great videos, thanks for sharing. After a trip like that most guys would be sick of one an other and just want to get out of there. You guys took every moment to enjoy the exit up river by fishing it and still taking advantage of the time. Your passion shows

in shallow water, small fish are easily -slap-stunned' by lashing some 6- long sticks to the end of an 8 ft sapling, to give you some -reach- and serious slap-effect.
some of that area looks like poncho-gear -raft- (swim behind it) sort of travel.

Have you ever tried standing in a canoe and poling? I suspect some portions of the stream could have been managed in such a manor. Great series. Work is full speed ahead, so I get to watch others do it at lunch and in the evening.

You mentioned keeping the catch alive longer, try poking the stringer (the thinner string the better)through the soft flesh at the bottom of the jaw it frees up there gills and the stay fresh substantially longer.

hook and line active fishing, while entertaining, is too expensive in time and calories for the Alone attempt. Nets and trotlines, along with springpole sets are the way to go.
