Fowler said it was winter when they got to Patagonia, but i dont recall seeing much ice on season 3? No salt in the water to make it more difficult to freeze up, either. I knew that season 3 would go longer, than 1 and 2, due to the lack of the horror of the tides and mud flats. Even tho they were not given the 20x20 tarp. Being on a big lake, instead of a sea shore makes it much easier. No tidal/mud flat problems, but also no kelp to juice. Since not one entrant has known to juice the kelp, it's not done them any good, and they've had to fight the kelp to get out where they can fish. without a craft, the difference between high and low tide makes it really difficult to use the nets or trotlines. Not having to concern yourself about a source of fresh water helps, too. And having less rain to deal with is a plus, also.

I respect Greg. He was very honest. I got hypothermia once when ice climbing. You know you are getting hypothermia when you are getting it. But then you start dreaming. And then you know you are getting it and start jumping around and getting scared. And then you are in dreamy land again. My climbing partner noticed I was losing it and getting my over tight climbing harness off, jumping around, warm tea and a fire sorted me out in about an hour. If you ever think you are getting hypothermia, get to safety. -Live to wimp another day! - as some backcountry skiers say.
P. S. Go Callie Go!

my top 3 season 3 before it aired was big zac 1/2, Dan 1/2, Greg 3. But after episode 4 last night Greg might drop a bit, not sure where, but Dan and zac seem legit, especially after the duck hunter his moral is a lot better. But I do have questions. In season 1 on the gear list it said Lucas has a pot or pan but only 1 and then in a episode he had both it was a pan and a coffee pot. Now in season 3 I see nessia has a steel pan from the 2nd hand store like mitch in season 1 but now in episode 4 he had a pot/tea kettle? Where do those items get in? Anyone know?

You know. in my original predictions on your Cast Analysis, before I demoted Slingshot Fowler, I put Dan and Callie together as the 4th and 5th dropouts. My gut instinct was always right about Dan. I've met too many people like him in my life, and I know how their mindset operates. Now to wait and see if Callie calls it quits from the spider bite infections. Sad, cause she and Fowler seem to be the only ones who are happy right now.

you burn 100 calories per mile walked, in normal temps, flat open ground. at about 3 mph. So lying around, you should burn a LOT less than 300 calories per hour. the problem is, there's 24 hours in the day, and you burn quite a few calories per hour even while sleeping. So you need about 1500 calories per day, even if you're only 150 lbs, lying around, at room temps, not stressed.

when i see somebody take the paracord hammock and weave netting out of it, (and nobody else does so) juices the kelp, takes a slingbow and 4=tined fishing arrows, takes the 8 treblehooks to catch and drown ducks and gulls, i-ll know that I-m looking at the future winners. until guys wake up and switch gear and tactics, they will continue to win only by being fat and lucky.

Patagonia Climate:
Winter (June, July & August): In this season you will find more snow throughout the region but you will be amazed to see both national parks and glaciers covered with snow. Temperatures drop dramatically, freezing rainfall is frequent and unpredictable, and most attractions close for the winter.

Very happy for Fowler. Carleigh and Megan were amazing. The toughness and fortitude of spirit was inspiring. People can be as critical as they want about this game show, but that was great entertainment with a phenomenal ending.
