We got caught in a CRAZY blizzard in Northern Canada, so we hunkered down, caught some grouse and snowshoe hare and made an EPIC BUSH MEAL! Watch for pumpkin pie, ruffed grouse and t-bone steak on the coals and open fire 3 hours North of NORTH! The purpose of the trip was two-fold, we wanted to hit some less pressured game of ruffed grouse and snowshoe hare, but also explore some new lakes and back roads for potential fishing trips come winter, spring, summer and fall. You can expect us to open up new waterways for sure as we found many small kettle lakes that are promising for all species of fish, from lake trout, brook trout, walleye, pike, bass and even stocked lakes with rainbow and splake! A real Northern paradise! When we think of the North, this is it, where the deciduous trees turn coniferous and the waters stay cold year-round! These woods are foreign to me, but also very exciting and I'm happy we took the time to get up here to have a look around. I dream of heading even further North to the Hudson Bay lowland and hit areas of Ontario that few people get to really see and explore. Something that is in my blood. Not captured on video. the hare that I took was actually running full speed on the road heading toward our vehicle - head on, we nearly hit it, but at the last second it turned at a right angle into the woods. I was able to track it to 20 yards and make my shot. We noticed that it had been in pursuit from another predator as revealed by the tracks in the snow. From one predator into the clutches of another - bad day for the hare, is a good day for us! -TO THE VIEWER, snowshoe hare or varying hare are plentiful in the North, as are grouse. They often fall prey to wolves and foxes. Removing one or two hare or grouse from the population helps increase the strength of the overall population. As the season is open in the fall and winter, it helps reduce overcrowding and therefore reduces the stress on other living things like plants and vegetation. Life without balances can often be catastrophic. By not removing animals at the bottom of the food chain, it becomes more stressful for those below it such as plants. Nature intended for the chain to be complete from bottom to the top- -We just launched Season 2 of our SURVIVAL CHALLENGE!

eating food out the crop of a bird is not macho Beardy. Its just dumb and bad for your health. Pretty disgusting really. Find other more authentic macho stuff if you feel you need to produce dog tricks. . Like maybe chopping down a tree with your bare teeth. You are not helping us outdoorsmen encourage our wives to join us with those circus acts. Really. Pal. I enjoy most of your real outdoor survival talent but don't get carried away by cheap acts. Please bro. i want to keep watching.

21: 25 u needed a lean-to. Also, half the water in the pumpkin kettle. Maybe even some butter lining the sides of the pumpkin and finish with a browning of crystallized maple sugar. U should check out grampa kitchen on YouTube. He has manufactured a way to bake outdoors over an open fire in a way that cooks but nice crispy outsides. Perfect fire cakes. Not only that it-s for a good cause. Cooks amazing meals in enormous proportions using ancient techniques.

Your show is so coo! Best I-ve maybe ever seen on YouTube. Seriously! I would kill to do what you do! I live in the city and have a 9-5 job and eat whatever the local grocery store sells me. What you do is living! Damn I wish I could get the hell out of the city live like my ancestors did, even just for a little while. Way to go!

Got a nice big grouse yesterday. I thought it was a pheasant hen. If you get one in my area you consider it luck because they dont perch a lot or move much unless you flush them.

I like how youtube alows you to show some one cutting and ripping a bird apart, But if you show a broken leg with a little blood you get demoitized

From my understanding, birds don't really have a sense of taste. So, while sour to us, it's just something to eat that doesn't make them sick.

That was funny and very ballsy to eat something that another animal was storing inside its body to digest. Awesome video mister Beardsman.

only a god hating idiot would put a -coexist- sticker on their car. i know that no decent and honest bushman would ever do such a thing.

Such a good cameraman, walks away from the camera and, you know he has to go back to get it, he just wants to get good shots
