EPIC SURVIVAL AND WILDERNESS LIVING! I put the finishing touches on my bushcraft solo survival lean-to shelter by adding grass bedding and a front to shelter on all sides. I then cook trout I caught ice fishing in fresh rendered goat fat and maple sugar on a hovering grill given to me by a subscriber. I add pumpkin soup to the meal from my Native American garden, maple syrup I harvested from trees on the property last spring, pin cherry jam I collected last fall, and make masa corn flour cakes which is endemic to the area due to it's agricultural heritage. - I will show you how to debone a trout! - I will show you how to make easy pumpkin soup or pumpkin pie without a crust. - I will show you how to hang a fire grill over an open fire for cooking. - I will show you how to build a lean-to-structure with just materials in the woods without cordage. THE GRILL/POT HOLDING DEVICE Big thanks to Jared of NOMADIC OASIS for sending me the fishy thing used to suspend the grill. Making Tea (8 mins): Cooking a Meal (28 minutes): Iron Walk (16 mins): Nomadic Oasis: PURCELL TRENCH GRILL Thanks to Josh from Wisconsin for the Purcell Trench grill and for Don Tryon the owner of Purcell Trench LINK TO PRODUCT: Check out our 5 DAY SURVIVAL SERIES: It is important to keep in mind that building survival shelters are not to be elaborate in construction as this simple structure required many calories and much time to complete. Also, I needed tools and material. In fact, I used an entire spruce tree and dozens of cedars to put it together. The good thing is that I didn't need any cordage or other modern gear if you don't count the saw and axe I used which were not really needed anyway. Gear and Products &

All for an A. How many calories do you try to consume each day? Now, I'm not an outdoorsman, but, at 65 years of age, I do weight train every day, and, walk -5K daily, so I need, at the very least, 2500 - 3000 calories each day, to maintain 5'10- and 180 lbs. But, all from every kind of meat, chicken, turkey, steak, lean ground beef, pork, veal(including the good saturated fats, and, of course, lots of eggs, every vegetable imaginable, bone broth, red and sweet potatoes for carbs, no processed grains(whole wheat bread is a joke, no fruits, sugar, or junk food. And lots of vitamin and mineral supplements, Omega 3-6-9, and amino acids.

Good stuff. though I feel bad for the poor soul that spends an hour or 2 collecting fresh water clams cause u said they are edible. they have almost no edible parts. certainly not worth collecting under any conditions. yes u could use one as bait for perch or blue gill. i challenge anyone to see how many fresh water clams it takes to make 1/4 lb of edible flesh. woodsmen will know if u are not speaking from experience. i really want to see u eat a fresh water clam. good luck.

I really enjoy all aspects of your videos, and my cat loves them too. He gets excited when you catch fish. I play them while I sleep and in the background while I do various things like woodworking. I really enjoy the length of your videos. So much more binge worthy than anything on Netflix or Hulu. Informative, entertaining, exciting, and relaxing. Good job.

Too much time in the wilderness, you start going crazy, and talking to yourself(lol) Civilization and progress are, sometimes, not such a bad thing. Or else you wouldn't be watching this video right now. People tend to forget that we try to better everything.

Very good heart felt video. Thank you. You have inspired many. The maize you grew( Indian corn. Goes really well when dried, ground, mixed with a little water and fried in bear fat.

this dish that you made with pumpkin is actually quite common here in Brazil, and like a puree but slightly more liquid, here we call it Quibebe and it has African origins
