I have been looking for some sort of an easy bed solution for winter camping. These cots look pretty nice but, as you mentioned, they are a little over the top to carry if you are doing any sort of hike. On our last trip, my wife and I constructed a double bed out of logs and it worked great; however, it took us most of the day to make the thing lol. Perhaps there is no easy way to get a bed when you are winter camping. It seems that nothing comes easy when you winter camp but that is all part of the joy, and sense of accomplishment that you feel when you are in the wilderness. Thanks for sharing!

That's epic I look forward to hearing how you folks enjoy your rest. My bed at the cabin is a cot and I've had guests before. So yeah I'm interested your take on comfort levels. I've found that because the middle sinks in a bit if you sleep wrong your shoulder will be stiff to the point it can't be used for a day. Laying on your back recommended. 2 people try for the same.

I use the Colman cot that is simular. I suggest a pad under it for winter camping. The sleeping bag is smushed under and loses insulation value. 15'F with a 0'F bag was chilly on the bottom. In a hot tent no problem. Great for storing stuff too under it.

Ritz Carlton. Ritz Carlton. Need to have my new designed shelter system. Cabled (or John-cord) shelter system, 12x16 tarping, can sleep 1-2-3-4 people in net hammocks, . and the (inside safe) John fire-can heating/cooking/eating unit.

Wow, 400 lbs, I could use that. I'm about 350 lbs (due to a touchy thyroid. Perhaps I'll go camping myself sometime if I get one of these, might be just what I need to trim down those numbers. Now if only I had a lake full of fish.

You don't do enough gear reviews. I'd like to know what gear you use, and what you'd recommend novices like me using. Seeing all the videos of the stuff you do outdoors, I'd trust your opinion over some reviewer on Amazon.

Lol, nice cot. I still have the old -really old- military wood frame cot. I just can't seem to part with it even though I can't bring it anywhere because of the weight. It still works really good. Thanks for the vid.

I would like you Mr Beardsman to comment on whether the cot is cold or not. I would think that with just a sleeping bag between you and the cot, that your back would get cold during the night.
