Monitor your valuables with Simtek: The farmer has had a problem with baby goats being taken for years from his property, so we have made it a mission of ours to drastically reduce the coyote population. This video is sponsored by: The only thing holding us back is that coyote are super smart and are staying away from our live traps. We need to beef up our game so we use the fox pro game caller to call in coyote using coyote calls, yips, barks, and rabbit distress calls. Simtek: Mark - Growing Up Goudie: As with everything, learning how to hunt a new animal takes a lot of patience and time to master. Fox Pro Game Caller: Use code WoodBeard for 10% off ASAT camo (All Season All Terrain): The big trap is Advanced Traps

Nice work guys. I had that same double stand. Wasn't the highest but felt like luxury compared to our other stands. We always had good luck with a bow sitting in trees during deer season. Thing I found about them is they learn easily from you so switching tactics is a must, as you are doing. I think that's why we get so many in deer season is we are hunting differently, for another species. The craziest thing I've seen, and I hate to say I missed, but once while hunting I shot at one with my 223, through some overhanging branches. He went down, I waited a couple minutes and then started out to get him and once I did he jumped up and ran off. Had never seen something like that before. When I got to where he had went down, no blood, fur, nothing, and the ground was covered in snow. Kinda wondered if the years I've hunted that area made them wise. I'd be curious if anyone else has had a similar experience of a coyote playing dead.

Baby bunnies screech loud when caught in teeth but it-s a very consistent high pitch sound, of panic. Your alert sounded more like a hawk with mental problems (foxpro. I agree with other commentators that it doesn-t sound natural. My guess is the coyotes weren-t fooled, just annoyed. I-m pretty sure coyotes would go for anything that is hunting a baby bunny in pack, or scavenge the dead. So the sound of a struggling bunny is two easy meals, kill the attacker and the victim. Also, U should let the coyotes alert each other of the -find- before shooting, I m h o. There-s this dude on YouTube who lures and traps/kills feral wild hogs. He lets them feel like the site of the bait is a safe place by allowing them access to come and go multiple evenings monitoring by night vision camera. Then, when they return to the food source and all the juveniles have come en masse, they drop the gates and take them out by air rifles

Since Canada has goofy rules on nite hunting for predators No pun intended wit respect but i think it would be wise to learn more about the animal an try your best to locate the Den since night time predator hunting is against Canadian rules. I think it should be brought up to your provincial government to have nite time hunting for nuisance Coyotes that are causing problems for the farmers as well. Day time hunts for these animals are far and in between since most of all these predators are hunting at night. The only other recluse you have is to set leg and foot traps metal foottraps to alleviate the problem

I grew up on a farm. I shot my fair share of yotes thinking I was protecting the livestock. After years of shooting them I could never seem to put a dent in the population. Also the local pack seemed to -retaliate- soon after I shot one. I could never eliminate them and by thinning them out it seems to keep the pack healthier. It's been over ten years since I shot one and now there is less and they now leave the livestock alone. Mange and disease has also kept them in check too.

Ive hunted feral dogs here in Australia, visual cover is everything with dogs, in open areas an old blanket matching the colour of the ground, timbered areas use 3d camo sheets and blinds and in tree stands use plenty to break up your outlines against the sky. Even if dogs cant see your details large blocks of consistent colours make them nervous.
Happy hunting, you've got it pretty much nailed I reckon.
Also a good quality scent cover can be very handy.

day time coyotes are kinda difficult. They can see hear and smell much better than humans. They have been hunted for a long time. I find that less volume on the call makes for more interest. If the dog is close the over volume will cause them to become wary because of the un-natural pitch. GOOD LUCK! Do not give up.

-One thing i can tell you is your call is too loud, it doesn't sound natural that way. the only time it should be that loud is if you are out in the open plains with a lot of wind going try turning it down about 1/4 of the volume it's set at when you go out now and see if it makes a difference-

Hey Woodbeard, I shoot coyote every year but I'm not coyote hunting. I run the can bleat call for deer and the coyotes come running right into it. Maybe try a deer bleat.
