In order to pass my trapping course, I need to set two traps! I'm selected to set up coyote leg hold trap and a raccoon conibear plastic cubby set. Bird B Gone: We set traps for beaver, muskrat, weasel, coyote, fox and raccoon, but many of these traps will also catch various other animals. My instructors name is Ryan Tamlin. If you are local to North Bay, reach out to him to take the trap course: rtamlin-hotmail. com To find a trap instructor in your Ontario area, go here: This video is part of a whole series called '9 Days in the North' that I put together while completing the trap course in North Bay with Ryan Tamlin. The course will certify me as a legal trapper and permit me to use all kinds of traps from no on and even run my own trapline! Throughout the series, we will hunt bear, duck, geese, grouse and whatever other critter is unfortunate to cross our path!

Nice, More trappers into the field, Its a great time in the woods, I am lucky enough to own a registered line and also built up a substantial private line. Looking forward to watching you learn the skills. Please dont be offended if I offer some tips and tricks when commenting on the videos comming in the future

The fact that he said wolves are killing machines makes me sad. They are actually quite the opposite and are very family oriented, and are actually selective in what prey they choose to hunt like if its weak or dying.

To keep your traps from freezing in cold weather you can also cover them with dirt collected from ant mounds. The ants leave a secretion in their mounds that prevents freezing. That's what I use.

A quick read makes it look as if there might be a bit of overlap between trap dyes and old school gun bluing. I wonder if you couldn't parkerize of even cerakote your traps.

Really great video - incredible interesting class. I hope you get an automatic pigeon plucker and you do a bunch of these guys on the smoker or deep fried like a turkey?

This is a great series, Woodbeard! Thank you for filming it! I'll probably never get in to trapping professionally, but I'm glad I am learning some stuff.

That reference book you mentioned sounds like a good resource for the rest of us too. Any info on where we could buy one?
