we return to Lake Weohyakapka with the FWC (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission) to go fishing for giant largemouth bass using saltwater techniques. Our goal was to use saltwater kite fishing techniques with massive shiners as baits to try and catch the biggest bass we could find. To my knowledge, this is the first-ever fishing video targeting bass using saltwater kite fishing gear

FALSE. See my other comment where I explain. I posted my other comment before watching the video, and now I see you are saying This has never been done before. THAT IS TOTALLY FALSE. If any man or guide is telling you this has never been done before. they are either lying, or they don't know as much as they claim, pertaining to the history of Florida trophy bass fishing guides.

Some Florida bass fishing guides have been using the kite fishing technique with live wild shiners to catch trophy bass for decades. Not very often, but they certainly have. I've got a book about Florida bass fishing guides tips & tricks that has an entire chapter about it. published way back in the 90's. maybe even the 80's.

I live in CT and we catch striped bass off of soft shell blue crab and you are guaranteed to catch them. No matter when you put the crab out, you will catch a striped bass within minutes. In the harbor, I caught a 40 inch one.

I've been waiting all day for this video. Great videos, Josh! For me, I actually caught a 3 1/2 to 4 pound Largemouth Bass on a small number 7 hook on a live bluegill. It was insane but awesome

I might be an outlier here but keep the videos coming Josh. We're locked down here in Ontario Canada and I miss fishing desperately. These videos help a lot. Stay safe Josh.

surprised you didn't have a giant bowfin hit the shiner. I went on a vacation on okeechobee with shiners and caught a bunch of massive bowfin (along with bass)
