In this BlacktipH episode, Josh is targeting giant amberjacks with Justin from LakeForkGuy and JT from Hook and Arrow. We headed offshore to a deep shipwreck in 200+ft of water off the coast of Florida. As soon as we got to the wreck, we started marking fish. Once hooked, amberjacks will swim straight to the shipwreck and break you off. If the amberjacks don't break you off in the shipwreck, the next challenge is to avoid the sharks. There were many hungry bull sharks on this wreck We hooked over 20 amberjacks and lost everyone either to the shipwreck or the sharks. We tried using live bait with heavy drag on a conventional reel, but we ran out of bait before we could land a fish. At the end of the day, Josh hooked up to a big Mahi and avoided the skunk. BEFORE YOU TALK CRITICIZE, READ THIS We are fishing a shipwreck in 230ft of water with a 4-6mph current. There are lots of sharks on this wreck that eat the amberjacks. Once we hook up to an amberjack, they immediately swim towards the shipwreck for safety (thus breaking our line. Giant bull sharks immediately start chasing the amberjack the moment you hook it. We have to fish very heavy drag to prevent the fish from swimming into the wreck. We have to retrieve line as fast as possible to prevent the sharks from eating the amberjack. This is a very challenging environment to land fish.

The entire reason you're being defeated by these fish is because of your wimpy TACKLE. I've been saltwater fishing all my life, and have learned the hard way that using spinning tackle on heavy fish is a total waste of time. just look at your girlish rod bending like a cheap paper clip. The damned thing is about the break Only conventional rods and reels can handle seriously strong gamefish, unless you want to have the fish control YOU, instead of the other way around. If you were to use this gear on a West Coast tuna or albacore charter boat, you'd piss off every fisherman on the rail. In fact, no professional skipper would never even let you use it. period.

Amber jacks are mind bogglingly powerful. I shot one with my spear gun once in Baja at 90 feet deep on the lip of a 300 foot deep underwater canyon. He headed straight down into the dark dragging me behind him like a kitten on a string. All I could do was hold onto my spear gun and add air to my BC. Finally stopped him, but then he headed back up toward the surface still dragging me behind. Rapid breathing saved my lungs and he finally lost his juice back up on the flat. He was 80 lbs and fed a lot of the local people. I wasn't sure for a while who was going to kill whom.

Theres nothing I could've done there guys. Except loosen the drag a bit and actually fight with the fish. stop trying to force it in 30 seconds, you're not reeling in a 4 pound bass, you have to tire them out. Sharks are a hazard with any saltwater fishing trip, had you taken your time and actually tried to wear these fish down each one of you guys could've caught 2-3 good size fish that day.

Dude. I would have jumped in the water I don't care how even by trowing rocks but I'll would had brought this fish up on the blooding deck I don't know about you ppl but this video made me very angry. When it comes to fishing I turned into a hungry great white shark

Think you needed to change things up after the first half dozen smoked your ass Obviously they were taking you into the wreck or were getting sharked. I hope you have better luck next time, that must hurt the wallet losing all that tackle

It's actually more fun to watch fishermen's asses get spanked by a big fish than it is to see them landed. My opinion. 200 worth of jigs those big boys smoked, plus the exploding rod and reel. Those are just some mean, savage fish

yes your a pain in the Arse your to excitable your like a child I would be very tempted to kick your Arse over board and if you grabbed my rod like that when I had a fish on it would be inserted where the sun don't shine

you haven't got a clue have you? why can't you play the fish its all about that word SPORT you go at everything like a bull in a china shop you got the money, you got the top gear but you lack a lot of inexperience.

After losing every fish they hooked. And breaking a rod you would think they would figure out that they're doing it wrong this does not look like fun let the fish take some drag fight him where him out

Tbh u ever think the way ur pulling might be putting to much stress on line I understand the power but do u have to yank rod u can even hear the line like whipping from pulling just a theory lol
