Boating safety is extremely important I got together with the U. S. Coast Guard to discuss boating safety and tips to help keep you safe on the water. Hopefully, this will help all of you and maybe save a life.

Great video, Josh. Did your filming of this video have to do with that scary experience you had recently (shark video you spoke of during this vid? There will always be another fish, but there is only one of you, so safety should always be the first priority. I still recall the video you posted and you talking about what all had happened after you got to land. I think we all realized how scary that was. I also recall how adamant your wife was about the storm coming up and you getting into shore. You could hear in her voice that she was worried. I guess we don't always think about the fact that when you are making these videos for us, you are putting your life and safety in jeopardy somewhat because there always can be that rogue wave, or a person falling overboard, etc. I'm glad you did this video to remind everyone that safety is first and foremost and if you get on a boat that doesn't seem well kept or maintained, just get off of it. Thanks again, Josh Heather

FIRST AID KIT Especially being off shore, if something happens even freshwater fishing, that ride to the ramp or back to shore can be life or death. And also for other boaters who may need help in case of accidents. Ive had to use mine twice and both were for other boaters.

Cell phones have always been useless for me, when I go off shore off of port Canaveral I lose all single rather quickly so how can you call 911 if you don't have a connection

You forgot Marine Fire Extinguisher Why dont you wear a PFD while you fish? You didn't need one inside the USCG boat surrounded by 4 ensigns with Sig's strapped to their leg

Josh, does the Coast Guard charge a fee after a rescue? If so, how much and I'd imagine it would depend on type/duration of rescue. Or is it a state free service?
