I was finally able to take my brother fishing for the massive Goliath Grouper during the annual migration and let's just say everyone got destroyed by these monsters In total, we caught 11 Goliath Groupers, with two groupers over 500lbs and one over 600lbs. I caught a new personal record Goliath Grouper on rod and reel, weighing over 600lbs (my previous record was 550lbs. These fish will humble a grown man, it's unbelievable how powerful they are

No way in hell was that grouper you caught 600 pounds. After watching many of your videos, it's clear that your length and weight estimations are ridiculous. I know fisherman exaggerate, but you take it to a whole new level. My fiance has been a sportfishing boat owner/operator for 20 years and he laughs every time you guesstimate. 300? 300 pounds? 180. At least someone corrected your inflated guess. I think that was over 500 pounds. HAHAHA, No.

blacktiph if the international has 120lbs full drag and you only have 3/4 to half of a spool. Doesnt that mean youre fighting that fish with closer to 180lbs of drag. Because there is less line on the spool you increase the amount of torque it takes to turn the spool, its like tightening a bolt with a short wrench vs a longer one. Everol reels have the different drags marked for different amounts of line out.

I don't mind cathing fish and releasing them for sport, and not for eating either, but It seems like you catch the same fish first two times in the video. Don't you worry about damaging the fish's mouths beyond healing by continually fishing the same spot and by that the same fish? There's gotta be a lot of them, surely, but it seems a little torturous to fish the same fish several times. Unavoidable, I guess.

Serious question: how do you not damage the rail of your boat with that much pressure from the rod? Also, what is the fail rate of the rod? Watching this, I can only imagine the rod splitting in half and stabbing me in the face

What would a trip like this cost? Or even just a charter out in general. I can seem to find posted prices for stuff like drift fishing but not small boat charters and I'd much rather do a trip with 2-4 people than 10+

I cant wait to start fishing like this I'm a bass fisherman from Pennsylvania me and my family are planning on moving here to Florida within the next year. I'm a newbie to saltwater fishing lol

I wouldn't wish any harm of any kind to any of you guys, but man is it ever so fun to see grown men nearly get pulled over-board by these giant fish. That was a blast. Thanks guys.

From a freshwater fisherman. I'll give you some perspective. Hooking one of these feels like you are using bass gear and someone tied a piano on and drops it off a building

If you ever have to retire one of those grouper rods you should make a video of what it takes to break it. I honestly think you could lift a Honda Goldwing with it.
