ive caught rays bigger than that in oc md on spinning tackle. thats a real fight lol. i also saw one from the beach pier that looked like a manta ray. mine was 5 ft wide, the one i saw was probably 15 ft. im glad i watched this because i said if i ever go back i was gonna try eating one (because thats all you catch down there) and i like shellfish, problem is im allergic so im afraid if they eat enough shellfish that they taste like it im afraid ill have the same reaction from it. i was gonna cut it into small steaks and grill them on charcoal wrapped in bacon. it still sounds good but the fact its getting compared to shellfish so heavily its probably safer that i just pass on that.

That s funny. I would tell everybody that stingray is delicious. And they all look at me like I m crazy, and they say is trash. Oh well, More meat for me. We grill it, fry it, smoke it. All meat no bones.

I had the opportunity to try some local stingray at a friends wedding dinner, it was incredible! Definitely smaller than this one, and I agree with the stringy texture but recommend to try it a bit more

I had stingray in Singapore it was absolutely the best thing i ate there In fact if i go back it will be the first supper i have. They were much smaller though like 4-5 lbs 2lbs cleaned

Its the cheapest scallop substitute its awesome, scallops are my favorite eat so when I get a ray its like a massive scallop steak, butter and some garlic salt seared gtg

I think something good to try with this would be gyros instead of tacos or maybe cook up a whole one almost luau style. Great vid though and pretty intriguing.

Used the rest for shark bait? I don't like to eat them myself. Hate those things after getting hit by one on the foot. Cut whiting is stingray candy.
