I am from Titusville Florida and have eaten smoked mullet all of my life. We had a neighbor who was born in 1902 and had a smoker and made the best you ever tasted. Also, up here in Brevard county we eat it fried just like catfish. Love you guts!

I grew up in South Florida in the 60's and 70's snagging Mullet with treble hooks. We smoked them and fried them and never gave it a second thought we thought it was perfectly normal.

Never had mullet roe. Tried Shad roe, cooked many way. Baked or fired wrapped in bacon etc. All went into the trash bin. Guess its an acquired taste.

Smoked Mullet Roe is another delicacy! Brine and smoke just like the meat. Up here in
GA most folks fry the fish and the roe.
Enjoy!
