Judging by the reaction of the buck I am betting you hit the heart. Typical heart shot will jump straight in the air and then take off running. Always go and track the animal for at least a hundred yards checking for scruff marks from a broken leg, blood specks, as well as the way they run. Some never bleed on the ground but hit a tree dead on their feet 75 yds from where you shot them. Some suffer and coyotes eat them later. Always go and check.
Great job on the filming, helping your wife and educating beginners on the sport.

Congratulations buddy on your first buck! Been hunting just about everything for 12 years now. Nothing like harvesting an animal for foot, and having someone there to experience it with! Ive harvested 5 deer now over 200lbs and 4 of which were P&Y. My last years scored a 187. Keep up the good work man

Nice job and nice buck even as a spike got to start some where. I like the 7mm but then got my hands on a 300wsm both are good gun. Decide to upgrade check it out. I think you'll like it. Again congrats on the buck.

I really wish more hunting shows were this raw. and real. Ya know you go out two days without getting anything. theres years where you dont see a mature buck. Definitely should do more of this.

The most undeserved deer in the history of hunting. I personally usually adopt a dog in the middle of a deer hunt. Lol. Congrats. Nothing wrong with taking a spike.
