I finally bought a NEW FARM I am beyond excited for this new project Comment below some ideas of what to build on the farm ENJOY Maty D: Heads up bud. Farming ain't easy. I've wanted to toss in the towel many times. But do what you love and it always pays off. As far as the property. Take the house and garage down. Shop is mint. Start new. Keep the house and shop separate. Give you some peace and separation from everything. I love my goats. But my turkeys are the funniest thing ever. My goats come down to my beaver pond and fish with me. Always a good time. Ducks and chickens are cool to have. Helps keep bugs down. And their butt nuggets taste delicious. Turkey eggs are excellent as well. Goat's milk is pretty good as I'm lactose intolerant. But having a buck around stinks to the hills. Literally. Should do high end meat farming. Bison or red deer. Something tasty. The deer would be easier. Bison need ridiculous walls(not fencing so much as electrified I-beams) either way I'm sure you'll slay it Sorry about the water. but everything can be rebuilt I'm just glad there was no emotional tie to the property. Keep googin my man Be well

Where I'm from an old guy I knew had less land then you and started up a bow hunt only wild hog game ranch fenced in 2 areas was for meat hogs witch was as small as was there to the biggest in that area he charged 150 per meat hog every time I went the smallest was 100 pounds but I have killed a 300 pound hog from the meat hogs on the other area that was fenced in was the trophy hogs he charged 500 per trophy hog and I went a lot for meat hogs and had a blast trying to spot and stock hogs with friends there and he did show us some that where worth every penny of the price from 3in 5in cutters he even had some that had 6 to 7 in the heaviest started at around 300 lbs but he had one Russian boar that was pushing 600 the cool thing about that one was wasn't the 6 to 7 in cutters it was the color it had the normal color on the face but the hole bottom jaw was completely white and went all the way to the tips of his ears I know that's a lot to read just an idea tho

It will be ok Flair, I had 40 acres and sold it to fund another business only to find out I am in the process of getting more land Land is a good investment especially once you get an aggie exemption for it. It doesn't matter if it is flooded, better days are around the corner. I would do both livestock and planting seed. You can always have one support the other, making that farm flow in no time. No crops no problem, animal revenue and vice versa. I would build a new house on a rise, high enough where floods will do little to no damage. There is a lot of different ways to build a house to prevent minimum damage if it comes down to it. There is a company over here in Dallas that can build you one on stilts, they look freakn nice. Congrats on the purchase

Scrape the feilds to provide foundation soil for your house and maybe to start making that area deeper for another pond/stock tank. If you want live stock. You may also consider building your house on a Peir & Beam foundation. This would save dirt for the pond and save the house from the water. Plus u can build a wrap around porch for that real farm/ lake house feel Rip them lips brotha

U would make more money if u do beans and corn for three or four years to make back some of the lost cost to the flood and then rent out the stock to some body with cows for a little more money and then start the transformation to your own animals and then do what every u wont unless u didn't pay much for it is iragateed ground if so do the crop thing makes more seens

Do whatever you want for a residence; but check out Permaculture and 3 field rotation(Orchards are EASY - some pruning once in a while, and live your life)I'm no way a farmer but I have a few hobby things happening; and binged for months on permaculture, field rotation, aquaponics, etc.

Belated congratulations on the property. May I suggests that you knock down both houses, rebuild by placing the houses slits as many of the residents have done in New Jersey and New Orleans and us the lower levels for storage and garage for your truck.

Flair here is an idea to keep in mind you could have taken the battery off your truck and used it for the trolling motor I have done it more then once just an idea to keep in mind enjoy watching your videos keep up the good work

Shouse for sure Giant bonfire with the house. Prairie grasses in the fields to promote wildlife conservation? If it floods again itll just be waterfowl habitat. Giant driftwood might make a good lay down in the brute bakery.

I trap crawfish up here in michigan, by far the best bait imo is a cut up gill or left over scraps of the walleye I fillet. go catch some of those green sun fish and give em the ole slice and dice and toss them into the traps.
