NEW Flock of Chickens Do We Have a Rooster?

After months of no chickens, it's time to start up a new backyard flock! A friend had an abundance of chickens and offered some to us but we don't know exactly what breeds and if we have all hens or maybe a rooster in our new flock. It's a mystery flock of about 4-5 month olds and we will find out soon if they are laying eggs or crowing at sunrise! Texas: Please use hardware wire on top of Rackley Roost- - Raccoons and a whole host of other varmints can and will break through chicken wire
Congratulations on getting some motherclucklers back in the coop.

Oh I just loved this so much. It is great to see the whole family together again. And the new chickens are awesome. Emmie is so good with them still. I'm glad she has her pets back. She is great with them. And wow baby Ben is so big now and all over his amazing big sister. Beautiful, Beautiful Family. Please have more videos with all of you together. They are Priceless!

Think i mentioned it back when you added the top. You could thread(weave) paracord through the chicken wire all the way around the edge of the opening in a complete circle and then pull it tight and tie it off. Then all you have to do is re-cinch it twice a year so it can expand

Loved the vid! Fyi your supposed to fill the bottom of the chiminea with sand up to a few inches from the opening it absorbs the heat and keeps the clay from exploding I found out the hard way! Again loved the vid

I know it sucks to hear, but chicken wire won't keep predators out. Coons can easily rip a hole in it. found that out the hard way lol.
Ya need hardware cloth, it's welded instead of twisted together

I think they are all mix breed. I love cream legbar, Easter egger, ameraucana Wyandotte and Rhode island reds. Good luck with them my dogs ki. lle. d all my 20 hens. Get a cream legbar rooster

No fear in Emmy. She really is growing up. Seems like she will be tall and athletic. I even detected a little southern drawl when she said I am putting my hat on.

Time for a donkey enclosure around the chicken coup. Then you can also build a donkey trolley for your kids to rid in. Congratulations on your new flock

To whoever sees this comment, you saw it for a reason. This is a sign your gonna be successful. all you gotta do is put in the work and grind. All love!

I thought you could tell hens from roosters by holding them upside down by their legs. The ones that pull themselves up are the roosters.
