Weirdly enough, l caught my biggest ever redfish wading some shallow grass flats around the entrance to Tampa Bay throwing a gold flake soft plastic for big winter trout. At first, l thought that l had foul hooked a big ray, so l was kind of horsing it for a couple minutes after the initial long run, until l saw a big boil and that massive spotted tail slap out of the water. After that, l probably walked a quarter mile chasing that fish down on 8 lb test over half an hour. By far the biggest l have ever caught, probably weighed 25 lbs. No idea what that fish was doing inshore on a shallow flat, but l patiently revived and released it. One of the greatest fights I've ever had from any fish. Reds pull so hard lb for lb compared to so many other game fish.
P. S, you are absolutely right that reds can be so picky about what they will eat. Sometimes they will hit anything, and other times, you raid your tackle box for half the day just figuring out what they want that day.

Also weirdly enough, the biggest Snook l ever caught was at the Blind Pass bridge in Fort Myers Beach. And l was using 80 pound tackle with a massive cable leader and a 16/0 hook and a big dead mullet for bait. We were shark fishing, and the tide had gone slack, and l just dropped the bait to the bottom waiting for the tide to turn so l could drift it out into the inlet. And then the clicker went off, and l set up on it and thought it was probably a nurse shark, so l just cranked it in and we walked it down to the beach. Couldn't see anything, it was middle of the night. Ran down there to release the nurse shark and was absolutely shocked to find a 30 lb snook flopping around!

I have never had a snook break my line, unless there was structure. But an open water hookup, never. I also use long shank J-hooks, circle hooks are for dead sticking. BUT, ask 20 different snook fishermen, you'll get 20 different opinions. Snook are so finicky at times and sometimes you can't keep them off your hook. Getting that slot is money. Bull reds, fun to catch anytime. The fight is incredible, especially around structure. Good video guys!

I remember some guys chuckling at me when I was leaving Yankee Town boat ramp testing out a bass boat that I had been working on making sure it was going to float only had a trolling motor on it some frozen shrimp 1/4 oz red and yellow jig heads we talked to several times running into each other around the islands I was limited out and on my way back at like 9: 30 a. m. they love that shrimp when it gets cold

Awesome you got out! Second major move on your end is to beg Grandma and Grandpa to babysit and take the lovely lady out on a date. Or the other option, send her to a spa and have her pampered while you watch the Lily. I would stick to the first one as you stay connected and that's very important as well. Never forget date night. Either option should suffice though.

Ting such good videos. You’re an inspiration for me and my brother. we started fishing together offshore this year and I feel like from only learning from videos. We have done pretty well so far we both work full-time jobs and have kids so we only get to go every other week at best. Real helpful when you show the how to and thank you.

Viktor, My favorite place to fish, I was always offshore when I lived down near your area. Moved up to Oak hill area and have been catching reds, gator trout, snook, snapper. You slayed 3 really nice reds and backed it up with dinner snook. Pretty good few hours, your Capt. obviously knows his stuff, Great video

With regard to bait. Its the predators' increased ability to bite or eat a bait without causing harm to itself, is why specific 'live' baits are better than others. Now, taking a intercostal mullet to the deep blue, totally different

First of all, congratulations to the both of you on that new baby! She is beautiful! BTW, when I saw you used croaker for bait, I caught many spot and croaker as a teen and we fried them up. Such good eating!

Lilly is beautiful and congrats! That recipe looked amazing I've never tried snook but heard it's great. I look forward to many videos with young Lily growing up in them. Cheers!

We caught 30 snook with Reel Lucky Fishing Charters (his buddy Cody) on just a four hour trip. It was insanity. Only 3-4 were under slot in the 24-25 range.

Congratulations to you both! Everday memories are being made. Being a Father is more than worth living for. Its a honor and a blessing. You two will do great!

Caught my over slot snook and tons of other fish right off that jetty on the nasa side, apparently there’s red snappers back where the ships park
