Another way you can easily take hooks out is simply debarbing the hook. Although you take a risk of losing a shark it makes taking the hook out of a shark super easy and fast and you dont have to tie on another shark rig. I recently started debarbing hooks and i haven't lost a shark yet!

What lb shock leader do you guys use for sharkin down there? I shark fish NJ and only wish we had hammers/multiple shark species up here. We have sandbars and sandtigers and rarely use over 150lb shock.

I want to lbsf what is a decent rod a reel setup besides a senator, i was looking into Avet but what would really be best for sharks around 9ft in Texas
