The HUNT For A 150 MILLION Year OLD Living DINOSAUR! CATCH CLEAN COOK - American Alligator

WARNING! This video contains a wild alligator hunt and cleaning which may be upsetting to some viewers. Everything in the video was done legally following the regulations set forth by the FWC. Hunts are put on by the state in an effort to control gator populations. Last week I was invited to go on a hunt for a 150 million year old living dinosaur! (The American alligator) My buddy got two gator tags for a canal near Lake Okeechobee, FL. We harvested two 8ft alligators humanely, by snagging them with treble hooks while fishing. In this video, we show you how to clean, skin and butcher the Alligator as we had learned from watching a (DMFD) Dear Meat For Dinner Video. The meat was divided amongst friends and family and put to good use. The alligator hide will be sent to a tannery for leather products and the heads will be mounted. The Alligator tail was prepared in a marsala sauce with pasta and is a gator recipe you have to try! New Landshark Shirts Now AVAILABLE!

I pretty much eat a vegan diet. I think if you knew me you'd consider me a vegan, but I have nothing bad to say. I'm pro-conservation and that involves sometimes having to kill animals of a species that is overpopulated, or non-native. And if you choose to eat those animals that's up to you. Also, I don't personally think it is morally wrong to exploit, kill or eat non-mammals (i. e. fish, reptiles, crustaceans, insects etc, since they aren't sentient in a way that would allow them to experience a range of emotions that, if killed, would rob them of an significant experience. Cheers.

I think that it is great that you actually kill and cook your catches. That to me seems the right way to do things. And even better, you are not afraid to eat it. No preservatives or additives or antibiotics - just the original way of doing things before everything became commercialized. The way our fore-fathers did things. There is nothing remotely wrong with that. Thumbs up for you and what you do!

The feet/leg sections can be mounted to be all kinds of things from an ash tray, toilet paper holder, etc. i'm sure it's probably on internet. I've seen just the small foot portion mounted upside down with the toes slightly spaced apart to hold your drink and protect table like a coaster: -) all kinds of ideas. I travel a lot and seen gator mounted into so many different ideas. Good luck.

That surprised you Victor. I am not a hypocrite, I eat animals that have to be killed. I do go for the humane bit. I was brought up in East Africa for 16 years and I did some things that make me go cold with disgust about my behaviour with guns and now when I reflect I am full of guilt. Anyway I am sorry about my ravings.

I love your videos. I have hunted and fished all my life, well the last 60 yrs of it, and you did it right and by the book. I have never eaten alligator but then you probably have never eaten Ground Hog. Ground Hog does require a pressure cooker but it is wonderful.

Cool video. Dont worry about any haters. Hunting, fishing and gathering is what has kept humans as a species around for thousands of years only in the last couple of hundred years have humans been able to look at these activities as optional or repulsive.

Just saying. I can appreciate seeing that you all are trying to utilize as much of the gator as possible. An idea. the cuts, or parts that isn't great for human consumption may be good for bait, or for even dog food.
