I love Ana Maria Island. My brother has a condo there that he and his wife stay at during the week because they work in the area. We also do an annual beach week the first week of July. Awesome times there. My husband and I just started fishing on the island. We still havent tried the pier yet. Now I definitely want to give it a try. Love you guys.

Your never supposed to hold a pelican by the top and bottom bill. Only the top bill! if you hold them with the bill closed they cannot breath. Your supposed to only hold the top part. I was taught this at the South Florida Wildlife Rescue. It is very important for people to know.

I don't think you did anything bad that breaks the spirit of the law, but you REALLY do not want to be seen by a cop, ranger, warden etc. carrying around a pelican. It's a federal crime to hinder them.

I'm from palmetto Florida. I'm very familiar with Anna Marie island and the pier. I live in Virginia now. It's very satisfying to see a piece of home from a great fisherman and Fisherwoman.

IVE FISHED AT THAT PIER! The water under the pier was so clear when I went you could see fish atleast 15-20ft down, it was amazing
