In this Catch, clean and cook, I caught some Fluke while fishing on the west coast of Florida. I show you how to clean and fillet the flounder. I also prepare a fish recipe known as flounder francese. YOU ever wonder how some Fish can be so ugly, but be so expensive? Don't judge a flounder (fluke) by its exterior, because the fillets of these fish are some of the tastiest of all the saltwater fish. Flounder are bottom dwelling fish, which can camouflage in the sand. They ambush their prey when it swims over their head. Flounder may look bizarre with eyes on one side of their head, but they are delicious. My apparel:

I thought flounder would be right up your alley filleting because you like to loin fish out and really thats the easiest way to fillet a flounder is quarter it! I learn a ton of stuff on YouTube also and sometimes you just run into the wrong tutorials cause everyone thinks theyre the best! Catch a couple more, fillet them up the right way, and post the videos you originally watched so people can be sure to destroy them properly!

What is it with everyone wanting to fillet small fish? Flounder that size are meant to be stuffed and baked or stuffed and grilled. and once again not enough heat in the pan and too much fish so nothing fries right. and you either flour, egg, then flour or you egg and then flour, you battered in reverse.

Man. I aint never seen a flounder so badly abused in my life, no offense it was your first time so I can understand the confusion, but its pretty much the same concept as with a tuna, four separate filets, you salvage a lot more meat, also get a smaller knife for these smaller fish

I love flounder. I used to always catch them in Wilmington, North Carolina in my childhood summers. I actually live in the San Francisco, CA area. I didnt know they had flounder in CA!
Wow my mind is blown.

A little constructive criticism, cut down along the backbone and then treat each flank, upper and lower, separately. You get a bit more of the meat that way, but not bad a-tall for a first effort.

Because it's simply one of the best tasting fish, fun fact they are born with an eye on both sides and as the fish matures one eye migrates to the other side.
