I never get out and Fish our south Florida Canal systems, but my buddy Cam cam_scallywagner called and asked if I wanted to go. Peacock Bass are a real prized game fish we have here in Florida and I have been neglecting fishing for them for most of my life. I want to start exploring the diverse freshwater fishing in the coming months and land some more species. We had a blast catching a ton of fish on micro jigs, tiny lures and live-bait. Little buck-tail jigs are one of my favorite lures to have in my tackle box. In case your wondering NO i'm not building a homemade pond, just stocking the one in my neighborhood. Lure used in video listed below! My Favorite Bucktail Jig, Seen in video (1/16 oz) My apparel:

Couldn't find the one video to align this question so I picked this one. I'm interested in seeing your method of tackle storage. Seems you would have an ass load of terminal tackle to organize.

What a great day fishing the canals for peacock and bass. It just looked like it was so fun to catch them and they are more aggressive than bass. You need to catch and cook some of these.

9: 30 if it was a dead shiner then it must have been a gar. Gar love dead shiners and its very easy for them to break off. If it was a peacock bass or large mouth it would of stayed on.

This is awesome! You're fishing the same canals I fished way back in high school. Crazy amount of fish in these. Except there werent peas in them back in the day. So sick!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Brook. Are the peacocks here and the ones in South America different Species. I ask because of the huge size difference.

You can catch those bad boys in north SoFlo all the way to south SoFlo they're a beaut. Is that an Allen fly rod that your friend Cam has?

Never catch any big Peacocks out of that canal but there are usually plenty of small ones, parking situation can be tricky.
