With all do respect, 1st if anyone wants to try, test any fish, salt and pepper, I just use salt only. The first time, if I like it or anyone in my family likes it I keep and prep it, the only way you or anyone is going to learn if they like it is to eat it with out hiding the taste with all the other ingredients, I hope you don't take it wrong, I do not think your palette has the training to be able to tell the difference.
I do NOT have the training myself I'm a simple country man ( I like it I eat it, I'm hungry I add the, well you know where I'm coming from) LOL, LOL. .
Also you do not need to make the video about trash fish, when you catch a fish that the so call cool people think is bad table food take one or two home, make a short video, and save it, sooner or later you'll have enough of the short videos, that you can add to a video that you think is short or you don't have enough B roll, or you are just dog tired just add one of the short ones and you are set,
Keep up the good work, God bless you and your loved ones keep safe don't let your guard down.

I dont know if the Bermuda chub is the same as a cow bream, at least thats the one I spearfish one the Mediterranean, but even if they are the same fish they can taste very different depending on the ocean they are in since their diet varies, where I fish them (in Italy) they arent really found in the commercial market but they can be quite popular in recreational fishing, but there is one key thing to do for them to taste good over here. Since their does consists mainly of algae you have to gut them as soon as they are caught, when I shoot them with my speargun I gut them in the water there in the spot (due to the lack of sharks in the Mediterranean) since all that algae will start fermenting in their systems as soon as they die and gives them a nasty bitter taste, also they should never be pan fried with their skin because thats extremely bitter to. But if all is done correctly they have a very white meat that isnt fishy at all and I quite enjoy just doing filets with just some light seasoning!

I live in Panama. There is no such thing as trash fish in Panama. We eat large Jack Crevelle. We eat sail fish. We eat many different fish that would be considered trash fish in Florida. We also eat mud cats. I used to live in Florida. I remember many years ago I used to catch many mud cats on the Indian River. I used to give five gallon buckets of them to a Thai lady I knew. She ate every one of them. I also used to eat stingray. Very tasty actually. Please do a show where you eat mud cats. I would like to see that. I have also tried eating the common mud fish in fresh water. I must say those taste pretty foul. Sand sharks are another one that is not my favorite.

Great video. Please consider this suggestion on your next taste test: Get three small bite-size pieces from three different fish and put each piece on a fork and have the tester with their eyes closed to pick up and taste test each fork. Just call it Fork A, B and C. Don't let the tester see the meat and don't tell them anything other than sample A, B and C.

What you call chubs in the US in Australia we call sweep, the other fish we call bream or tarwhine. Please learn to love the environment and release as many fish healthy back into the water, if everyone takes takes takes there will be a serious problem with fish stocks in years to come.

2: 08 we call those spot tail pinfish, I think its in the Porgy family. Theres also the other Spot that I think is in the Drum and Croaker family. What we refer to as Spot fish actually has a single small spot just behind the gills.

I'd try cooking the chub it like bangus. Butterfly it then marinate it in vinegar, crushed garlic, salt and pepper in the fridge for a couple hours. Afterwards pan fry till it's crunchy no batter/flour

I'm just wondering why most salt water fishermen use standard fillet knives instead of electric knives. Electric knives are far faster & more efficient if you have a talent for using them.
