Big INVASIVE Peacock Bass (Catch Clean Cook) Jeramie: The gar I caught was while dragging a big dead minnow behind the canoe on the river using a medium bobber and two split shot sinkers. They're scavengers. I didn't know what fish species it was, made a cellphone call. Short nose gar, beautiful spots.

Peacocks are not invasive, they were introduced to the SoFla waterways by FWC to help control the cichlid population. The clown knife is invasive and no, that isn't the only body of water in South Florida where you can catch them.

Hello fisherman friend, in South America we do not eat peacock bass, it has many parasites because they feed on anything, be careful as we find them with parasites all over the country

What a perfect time for this to be posted. I'm heading to Lake Ida over the weekend for a trip. Nice to know what might be biting
