The Jacks your talking about are called Greater amberjacks and they have a lot of worms. In Florida they also catch Almaco jacks and those dont have worms. Nothing to do with the water its a totally different fish.

People will be dying to do this. In my state, we have quite a few every year. Not sure if specific stats are kept on how they died, I think they just say accidental drowning.
